VN - Ren'Py - Once a Porn a Time [Ch.2 v0.12] [Salty01]

The character are the selling point of the game for me, and I'm not even talking about the princess, I really hope there will be spinoffs of the crew someday. The writing is fantastic too and with the addition of animation with the chapter 2, this is rally one of the best porn game ever for me

Solid art, and a fun story. A bit grindy, but what game isn't? And even then, the creator let the codes out so you can skip some of the grind. Only problem is that it's split into chapters. And I'm not sure if I want to skip from where I got in chapter one all the way to chapter two. Is the gallery from chapter one unlocked in chapter two? Or should I view it as two separate games with the same characters and tone? No clue. So, I keep trying to beat chapter 1.

Don't get me wrong, the games about the universe of OPT is one of my favorites but I have the urge to post a little review about the state of the game it's currently in and what I hoped for in a sequel/updates.

Chapter One is very clearly an introduction, for the whole universe and your task as MC to corrupt characters in the fictional theme park. It's straightforward but also lenghty and that made it so good. I really don't mind the grind as the rewards were satisfying and there just is a lot of content to explore. Lot's of customization and diverse array of characters to interact with. When the Chapter ended I really looked forward to the rest of the story and how many characters we would be able to corrupt. The riddles with Sphinx and other minigames unlocked the potential for a vast array of enjoyable gameplay like Aurelia has.

Chapter Two is more of the same, but also very different. The NSFW scenes are improved greatly and the animations are topnotch. I really enjoy the romantic stuff that's included, the build-up with Emee and Melissandre in Chapter One was a great entry point for further romantic experiences. While Amandine and Lycoris are interesting characters, the romance falls a bit short sometimes and Emee and Melissandre get completely left out as well. I would've liked to return to Anna, Elsa and Snow White (or what their Steam names are) more regulary and get implemented in the same game. The fact that you have to boot up Chapter One to interact with them makes this Chapter feel more empty. Just like I can't fit the outfits unlocked for Emee in Chapter One in this Chapter. (the clothing options are very limited in general in this Chapter)

I bought the Steam version of Chapter One as a way of supporting the dev as I just really like the content they produce. It's not something I would do for Chapter Two, there are just too little updates ( Chapter One had up to 0.33 and this one might not even make 0.15) and you can tell the dev shifted focus to the next 'game' very early on in the Chapter. I hope the next updates have a little more punch to the story and we don't have to wait long for the next game.

CH2 v0.11

You know, this used to be trainer game about corrupting princesses. And now it feels like game about talking with your crewmates with corruption sidequests. Yes, somewhere during the journey, the main selling point of the game was pushed into the side, because now there is more crew members than princesees to corrupt. Seriously, entire chapter 2 only has two, and couple of feminized characters (Djinn, Ali-Baba), whom I don't really consider as princesses. And since crew members obviously need screen time (and scenes) too, the actual corruption keeps getting more and more scarce.

Now, many people also complained about grind drone part, and how the actual scenes aren't enough to compensate for the grind. Like the whole second chapter only just now, in 11th update, gave us first actual sex scene with princess. In the game about corrupting princesses. You see the problem, right?

If only there was a solution.. Oh wait, there is! There is possibility to add (or slightly edit) most of the already existing scenes and make MC able to keep coming back for some lewds to already corrupted characters. But not like dev promised to do this.. Wait a minute, of course he did! he mentioned that many times actually, as it was one of the most common patron request. Yet all what is left from those promisess in CH2, is one event with Snow White. NON REPEATABLE AGAIN, and we can't even visit to look at her after.

How is it making any sense? We can have repeatable sex scenes with some of the crew members, but when it comes to princesses, who again, are main selling point, there are none. To be frank, it kinda seems like dev is doing all in his power to drag players away from the princess side, to random characters side.

It is also worth mentioning, during most part of CH2, there were couple of options with hearts. When clicked said there would be something in future updates. Definitelly Amandine had one, I can't really remember who else. Anyway, now those dissapeared, so I guess more planned content was thrown away. And the reason being? We can only guess, but patreon updates been informing there is new game in the develompent for few last months... Really weird coincidence, huh?

Grind isn't too bad.
The story is interesting, unique and great.
The Android porters for Chapter 2 are slower than the ones used to make the Chapter 1 port.
Emee the blue cutie is beautiful and a great person, as is Amandine the brilliant writer.

Overall, great game! Have enjoyed Chapter 2 so far. Loved the objective of the game since Chapter 1. At first glance, it doesn’t look like much, but once you try it, you want more of the content. For example, I discovered this game back when Chapter 2 was introduced and Chapter 1 was complete, although I did not know much about this game, I gave it a shot. Once I was in for a couple of minutes, I could not stop playing, I loved the objective of the game as well as the relationships you grow further in the game. With chapter 2, the same thing could be said, although the downside of the game is that updates come every 1-2 months, and it could be frustrating finishing a quest and yet having to wait for the next one. But overall, it’s a great game!

This game is waaay too grindy for what you're getting out of it. It's okay to have your game be shorter if it has stellar content. You don't need to artifically increase the length with an annoying as hell mini-game designed just to eat up time.

If the grinding aspect was removed I'd probably rate the game as much higher. But the sheer amount of work for pay off is just not worth it.

Which is a shame because I Like the writing and art, when I'm not wasting time doing pointless busy work designed to artificially lengthen the game.

Great art work, fun story. Good writing. Need more options to view memories/cutscenes. Could use a kind of freeroam mode after completion of chapter 1. Please continue this great game, and add more pubes!

Grind is broken AF.
Latest RenPy refuses to load edited saves.
Events still break.
Drone "minigame" is a fucking travesty.
Your primary income source - and primary quest cockblock - is said "minigame".

It would be more enjoyable to get a Brazillian using superglue and sandpaper than to continue playing this.

I really enjoyed the premise of this game and spent hours enjoying the dialogue, it's genuinely funny... but it really starts to feel like a grind after a while and the actual scenes (when you finally get to them) just aren't good/long enough to justify the work you need to put in to see them.

A fun and entertaining game about fairy tale women, but it's more about the humor than anything sexy.

Art's decent. Writing's been awkward at points, the grind rivals sandbox HTML games. Not nearly the worst I've played, but tends to drag too much.

Fun and enganging, a bit grindy from time to time. Rewards for the grind could be bigger. not enough lewd scenes that feel really rewarding. characters are great and reallly well Written dialouge. A lot is locked behind a patroen paywall

The problem with hand drawn character art is that it takes a lot of work to create.
So the devs creating such games usually use the shit out of every image they made. Which, you guessed it, leads to excessive grind because they have to stretch too few images over too much game play, or players would be done in 5 minutes.

Too little payoff for all the grind for me. AND - I even used the money cheat!

the "Patreon only" content is actually most of the content expecially in chapter two and game is borderline unplayable without the cheats but apart from that one of my favourite games on the site.

The game is truly amazing! The Art might genuinely be the best of any Adult game I have ever seen, and the the range of fuckable characters is moth diverse and all of them are well done. the game can be a bit tedious, but when using cheats that can easily be alleviated. probably in my top 3 best adult games

Honestly, I went into this one with low expectations - ever since the original Princess Trainer, there has been a stream of clunky, grindy wannabes. But this game nails it, mostly because of the excellent writing and character development. When you edge these characters toward corruption, you get that thrill, just like the original Princess Trainer or Four Elements. Well done, and I'll be sending some money to the developer.

As long as the developers remain committed, players can anticipate sustained updates and gameplay experiences.

Rating just chapter 1. The art is nice and the events are alright and I like the variety, but everything in between is tedious. It's just clicking the same things over and over until you get to the next event. As an example if you craft something it takes a day to complete and you have to go to bed first, why? This is not a strategical game where you have a limited amount of days to get somethin done. It serves no purpose but just wasting your time.

I would say that this is probably one of the most enjoyable games on here.

Visually it is great, and it got even better in chapter 2.
I enjoy the story and setting quite a bit, it's original enough and well executed.
The girls are varied enough and there is a decent number of scenes.
I will add that it starts a bit slow, but now it has gotten to a decent level.

The game is also not too grindy, though one thing I did not like were the riddles.
They were basically the most standard ones, you either knew the answer or had to google them.
Oh and they are case sensitive, even though that would have probably been a trivial thing to fix.
I hope they won't return in chapter 2.
There is also the matter of locked patreon content. Sure it's hard to complain about it on a site where we basically just pirate. However, it is a decent amount of content you would miss otherwise.

Honestly one of my favorite games, I've been passively playing it on most Ile for about a week and I'm just about finished with part 1. The art improves as you go, I was skeptical at first, but by elsas arc you can see clear emotion in the eyes and lighting.

My main complaint is a lack of re-viewability. (Ie, not being able to interact with snow wite in meaningful ways after compleateing her quests, not being able to strip Anna while training Elsa.) Being able to visit everyone once a day feels a lot emptier when you can't, for example. Make snow white make a pie again, even though the apples are still for sale. Or being able to fuck her or get blown by her at will after probing yourself a prince.
I know you can re watch most "important" scenes, but the replays don't have words or options, it just feels empty in that way. But that's not enough for me not to give it a 5 star and join the patreon.
