I liked the idea of this game, but with each update that comes along, the more I feel SO is a fucking prudish cunt. And a lazy fucking one who could have had at least a second in-game career but wouldn't accept my FREE help. I offered to help flesh out some stuff in one of the 'career' paths that are listed as options for your original PC to have experience in, except that SO wanted to have 'things more fleshed out and the framework built' before adding new careers. That was around the 2nd build. Now....framework appears the same, and the only thing we have is a shit load more clothing options and barely anything new otherwise. I won't mention what career I could have helped work on just in case SO comes here and fumes about the shit talking and the 'leaking' of the game. I'd rather not have a prudish cunt of a patreon milking game dev bitch me out.

Ever since I discovered this game, around 3.6 or whatever, Ive tried to play it with each update but cant get passed week 5 because I know its never going to be nothing more than what it is. Even if someone was to create content with actual gangbangs, rape or hell, even a gloryhole at the club would be a nice addon. But SO is not going to allow it in the game, unless somebody can hack the content into the game and upload it somewheres else.

The funniest thing about the new update is the legal disclaimer that he sent along with it, basically requiring you to donate all the additional content you produced to him. So essentially he will keep making 5-6k USD every month presenting content produced by other people to him for free.

This wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that he's literally spent none of the money earned on patreon to reinvest in the product. He just keeps producing a small update every month while still maintaining his regular job while getting all this money, and ironically the only thing that will help him reinvigorate his project is other people working for him for free.

Oh well, I never paid for it so maybe I shouldn't complain

This game type desperately needs competition. There is literally NO other game of this type (Girl Sim) that isn't some some archaic architecture like RAGS or QSP. I for one, love the text and options this game has, I like the interactivity but the slow and literally minuscule updates kill me.

Build up the frame that everything else will work off of, thinking up the variables and functions, the stuff that will get tracked, etc., and if you're going for something lore oriented, what kind of lore and how deep it goes or ties into the story you wish to tell, if any. If you don't do coding, think of all the things you are able to do that works to your particular skillset and enlist the help of people who can do the things you can't.

Oh, and in addition to the things I listed, there is also researching to add to the list of things I can do if requested.

I dont know if someone of you guys is involved with it, but i have seen a new game called Accidental woman on tfgamessite, which seems to be a Newlife clone made with twine. Now there is just intro and character creation (deeper than Newlife's), so we will see in the coming weeks if the development is more serious than Newlife. Contrary to SO, the dev is open to additions of new fetishes and content as long as they are consistent with the game world. Big minus is that the dev has started patreon, i believe that more content had to be provided before asking for bucks, although there is free version available that doesnt include cheats (familiar ?). I hope that the dev proves himself to be different than SO in a positive way.

Yeah, I saw that and downloaded it. I thought it was good, and the writing, while having some grammatical errors and typos, was well put together for the most part. Seems like he/she is trying to combine FC, Newlife, and a few others into a single well thought out porn game. There's a lot of customization and I'm scared for the poor dev, that's a lot of shit to track and incorporate into every action.

Nice character creator but felt the descriptions a bit long winded. It was a bit of "choose action" and then a whole bunch of things happened. Hopefully it gets better after the intro and more "sim" than "story-related".

It sounds like that's the plan. But I like the long winded stuff because...I'm odd like that. It gives story, and the parser seems to be something they've worked hard on. Yes, I read their blog.

Apparently, an open source clone of newlife has been created, but its still in the beginning stages. I can't post links yet, but search for "nuevavida" on github. The idea was pitched on some chan-board where newlife was discussed, and they have links there

If you really want a game similar to this, Girl Life is the same thing, but with pictures, and its not on patreon. It's a community game, where the developers are in charge of editing the dialogue you give them, and then they add gifs/webms and do the rest of the coding. That and everything is in game and doesn't require a donation to access any of the cheats.
