How does one use Rags? I have tried and failed many times. Why would anyone use a medium so difficult to use?

Why do you have the last updated as today...? This game was finished last year.

How does one use Rags?
You need the correct series (2.x or 3.x) of the RAGS Player to be installed to run a RAGS game as the two series are not really compatible, this means you need to know which series of the RAGS Developer was used to create the game. You will also need to install a version of the RAGS Player that is either the same version or a later version than the RAGS Developer used. If you plan to install both series then you should install the 2.x one before the 3.x

To further complicate the issue the RAGS Player requires a number of Microsoft products to be installed (and the correct versions of those products) for it to run, exactly which products are needed depend on which series of the Player (2.x or 3.x) you are installing. If you have a 64-bit operating system then you will need to install the 32-bit release of one of the products before the 64-bit release.

List of Microsoft products required:
1. Microsoft .Net Framework (each series needs a different release, but I think the 4.x release contains both need)
2. Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 SP2 (if OS is 64-bit then install 32-bit release before 64-bit release)
3. Microsoft Media Player (for series 2.x)

I thought the last updated stand for the last time I updated the post with an update... Is it the date at which the last release was posted instead?

Its from when the game was last updated. Otherwise you get people who think long finished games were updated out of nowhere, seems like common sense.

Tbh there's close to no game made on RAGS 3.x because it's hellish to use for developers, .Net framework should be installed by absolutely everyone and the SQL and Media player package depends on OS which I believe only Win8/10 should have an issue with.

That all being said I never learned how to enjoy this particular game and it really might not be worth to go through this "complicated" process for it kek

While true, they do exist (especially on other sites) thus my inclusion of series 3.x in my previous comment.

....Net framework should be installed by absolutely everyone...
While an installation of the Microsoft .Net Framework is likely to be installed on most modern releases of Windows, it may not include the v2.0 SP2 required by series 2.x (pre 2.5) of the Player and even if it does it may not be enabled.

...the SQL and Media player package depends on OS...
Series 2.x requires Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 and there are a number of releases of Windows (not versions) that either don't come with Microsoft Media Player installed or have it disabled.

I never said that the end-user had to install the above products, just that they needed to be installed. And only the end-user knows (or can determine) what software is already on their machine, which is why I mentioned the need for said software.

I thought this was a rather fun game, but as others have said the game overs were rather brutal, so you had to save often.

Double checking Dollmistress' thread at Hypnopics Collective, this was the final version, so the Completed tag should be added to this thread.

For those having a problem, a pretty good walkthrough was posted by ida4t at the Collective. I've copied it into the spoiler below. As I recall a couple of things may have been off, but it should get you through most of the game.

No idea what i'm doing in this game lol, I went outside naked a few times then got a game over. :v
In the Lounge of your house you have a computer if you look at it you have the option to open some stuff on modern living, which explains how things work in the game. The work info is important and of this is important as I couldn't figure out how to get to work. A latter file gets added when you become a super hero, make sure you go to the clinic when you do.

If you leave the house make sure you all ways have your purse with keys. If your in superhero mode you can get back in via a tunnel that goes to the basement.

The all the outside and mall locations don't show up unless you search till you have them all. Youu'll get a cell pon option with a map that shows what times and days certain things are open when you do.
Go buy food and don't forget to eat breakfast and dinner every day. Also make sure you sleep at night. You can colapse and end up in the hospital.

When you get the necklace go to the basement of your house.

One of the special super hero patrols has you type in 3 answers from a clue image that isn't in English the answers are (cap sensitive):

Gamma Waves
Teddybear
Antiquator

Always save before you look at clues/info for special patrols you have to answer questions based on them to be successful.

Some people will talk differently to you if you are in normal or super hero form and some place you can only do stuff in one form successfully.

Go to the Library and get the book connected to the job you have, don't forget to return the book to the library or you'll be find if you keep it out to long. Study the book when you can it is in the spare room in your house. Your job skill will go up and you'll see better results at work. (The work results for the day are random but your job skill influences the result) I recommend you do this for the first two weeks when you can.

The park does something something similar for social the social rolls occur when you go to the club. Get your social up high before you go to the club to hang out or you'll get more negative results.

When you buy clothes in the department store and any other items, make sure you take it unless it went in your inventory or went to your house. You need the goth outfit so buy it when you can.

If you lose an item you can get it back by going to the lost and found in the deartment store. If you lose your casual clothes use option in your bedroom to find them. I recommend hat you keep any non carried stuff in one location of your house.

My typical day is at the moment is: get up, shower, use toilet, eat get dressed, get ready for work, go to work, eat dinner, study and a patrol or study and study or park and study (the last two are fatiguing and can effect you health). If your fatigue gets to high go to bed early makes sure you go to bed at night unless you have to go some where that you can only do so at night. You can stay up all night patrolling and doing other things and you'll pay for it latter on. Too high fatigue or low health will send you to the hospital. Off days are currently spent shopping, doing stuff studying and paroling. When my job is high enough I plan to replace the job study with park every day

Money from work and super hero stuff goes to your bank account so don't forget to with draw money to by food and stuff. Make sure you always have enough for rent in your account.

Never go out your hose naked unless you want to end up in jail. (You want to go to jail this way at one point in the game this way to get attention. you'll know when to do this cause you get some text about trying to think of away to attract attention.) You also get a 75 dollar fine for doing this.

The new you place in the mall is a trap that will get you brain washed and lead to game over. You'll be warned about the make over.

If you screw up the date with the officer in the casino. Go to the casino again and do another date and make different choices. Don't go to new you like she says iif you screw up. If successful you'll get asked to go to her house for dinner and get wine. I bought red but I think white is the better option.

The love charm isn't useful to buy unless you have a ot of social xp and a high social. I bought it met my true love but didn't have the social xp to do anything. Social XP is used to buy stuff. You can get some buy watching tv and through social activities.

Advice on how to proceed can be gotten at the clinic.

Does any one have a walk through on how to boost up stats and stuff? I know that you need to know how to do that as it was just a grind fest trying to figure out stuff and get my job skills up and I know I need my other skills up. I'd also like away to know what my skills, etc are at. Also what all the stuff you can buy at the mall does.

Didn't see the walkthrough that was posted when I did my post. 2 questions about it:

1.) How do you use the cheats? I'm not sure were you enter them. They have an item in spare room that has 3 buttons and I got one to work but none others. the one that worked was the same as my rep.

2.) The game is too grindy I spent several hours just to get my current job skill to a 9 with studying non-stop and I have to play several months it seems to get to final job level. From the walkthough that was posted you need to work in certain jobs and be at a certain level to just get some quests. Given how long it took me to just max out my skill in one job and get to the end of a month in the game (Over 7 hours) completing the game could take several boring days of game play of just doing: shower toilet eat work eat study study sleep on work days and just study as much as possible on non- work days just to get the requirements for the tasks. (Never understood why game makers want to have excessive grinding and repetitive tasks in games.

^ the reason why developers put grinding in their games and repetitive tasks is to draw out the play time and make the story/game seem longer than it really is. Unfortunately, a lot of people get tricked by that. Grinding isn't gameplay imo.

Sweet Jesus, this game is beyond complicated. Even following the walkthroughs posted above (God bless you guys for that), it's still so fucking complex for a porn game. If you're considering playing just to jack off, DON'T even bother!
