How is it irrelevant? He would know his ex girlfriends last name, but he would not know her future married name. So even knowing Melodies last name now, does not mean that it was her mothers maiden name, the name that he would know.

Basically he would have asked direct questions, if he had thought that the girl he dated in college was the same person. A first name only, would not prompt such a response. Try googling your own full name and unless you have a strange one, you will find out that you are not alone.
In the state that I live in alone, 70 people have the same first and last name as mine, but there would be thousands with just my first name.
For example, according to Google, there are 1,527,408 people in the U.S. named Jennifer.
There are 661,933 people in the U.S. with the first name Amanda.
Do you see my point. A first name is not much to get excited about. A lot of people have the same first names, but if you attach a last name to that first name, you may still have a few thousand in the country, but it would be enough to prompt asking for further details.

Do you think our routine will work in Vaudeville? We have the opportunity to open in Cucamonga over the weekend.
Just gonna jump in here and say how much I love this game / novel. Am still a fan of DMD, but agree with others here that the character development and writing in general of Melody is much better. D of DMD is so cute and sexy (though whiny, e.g., 'What are you doing, Daddy?' ad nauseam). The story is just dragging, IMO.
However I'm really liking the pace of Melody so far, and the depth of the title and main characters. She is also so beautiful, as is the rest of the artwork (as aways by Mr. Dots and team). I too want to know more about her mother and the possibilities that her and MC's past lives could have crossed.
Anyways, just my current thoughts as well as a shout out to this community!

You can't seriously apply that kind of logic in this game, especially considering the situation with Patreon and what MrDot's most popular game is known for. Yes first names are common, we know that, but you are trying too hard to analyze it realistically. Not quite a coincidence when MrDot purposefully let the characters mentioned the name of Melody's mother let it be known that it was also the name of his ex-girlfriend, there are millions of name out there that he could have picked if you want to use statistics.
Amy and Arnold even appears in DMD's latest chapter, albeit only in background and not mentioned, just goes to show that these "coincidences" are planned and put it the game for a reason. I'm sure it's a simple hint for the incest lovers to fantasize on their own without directly making it too obvious so Patreon doesn't knock on his door.

I must have missed it. Where did anyone say what the name of the MC's ex-girlfriend was? I am sure she had a name. But I don't remember anyone mentioning it. Other than the MC, only Tim or Isabella could possibly know it. Did one of them mention it? Where?
If it happened, I will change my position on this subject.

My mistake, the cross-reference of how his ex dropped out of college and suddenly disappeared and the similar history/or story told by Melody of how she was pulled out suddenly is what I meant when I said MrDot let it be known that it was a hint at his ex-girlfriend thus possibly being Melody's father.
As I said, this is just simply a POSSIBLE hint for incest lovers, open to them to fantasize, I'm sure there's a fetish out there for people who likes incest without the main characters actually knowing, if you are not an incest lover, then you are free to choose to believe that it's nothing.

Actually, I am an incest-game lover. The large majority of the porn games that I play involve incest. But, a good porn game is a good porn game, and this is a VERY good porn game.
I just don't think it's happening in this game, for reasons I have spelled out previously. If it does, I'll be interested to see how Mr Dots gets around my argument against it... or ignores it, for that matter. Regardless, I'll continue to play the game.
