Ren'Py - Max's Life [Ch. 5 v0.52] [Kuggazer]

Lots of content between all 3 episodes, probably somewhere around 15 hours worth. The animations are just taken from Honey Select, so they are decent quality, but limited and have some weird physics and lighting. The game itself is not great, it's basically impossible to make any decent amount of progress without a walkthrough.

The UI isn't very good either, the navigation was improved for the second episode, but for some reason was reverted in the third episode. The dev doesn't seem to be interested in fixing bugs as there are known game-breaking bugs in both episodes one and two. The game runs weirdly slow ( I ran it on my pretty high powered gaming pc) and locks up for seconds at a time transitioning between text boxes (not a problem I've ever experienced with any other Ren'py games).

The story and characters are actually decent, if the UI and gameplay were improved I'd give it like a 4.5. I do hope that the dev continues to make games, as I'd be interested to play a game made by them after they've honed their skills a bit and perhaps makes their own animations.

Overall I'd say play it if you have some spare time, but there are many games more worth your time out there.

EDIT 06/18/2020: So the dev remade chapter 1, and it's excellent. A MAJOR improvment over the original, it's completely new. The quality is MUCH higher in every respect. The UI is very easy to use, it's not grindy at all like it used to be, the hints make it very easy to play, the grapical quality is miles above what it was (I would like it if the models were a little higher poly count, but I think they're limited by Honey Select(?)) and the animations are all pretty high framerate. If we're talking about just Chapter 1 remake, I'd give it a 4.5/5 (the only thing against it is the dialogue can be a little rough), including chapter 2 and 3 I'll have to knock it down to a 3.5, but rounded up to 4. If the dev remakes the other 2 at the same level of quality as the chapter 1 remake, I'd give it a 5!

This game has a lot of good models but the grind is a nightmare, too many clicks just to see 1 scene, and boring repetitive conversation.
After a couple of hours of constant clicking the walkthrough to play the game, i ragequit.

Nice game , nice graphics.
Really long and not even finished, many events, many days to play.
Yes there's lots of grinding but all those games are like this, and at least here you'll get nice rewards
If you like games like Corruption just go for it instead of waiting for the next year update

While the characters are great the game is unplayable even with a walkthrough thanks to the grinding and its quite shame because the creator could provide hints for the player (in other games there are) for that reason i was forced to drop the game as i could not progress

The other frustating part is the crushes when you are saving or loading the game

Why my poor rating is ? Ch. 2 it was very successful but Ch.3 is very bad . In Ch.3 is all old gatherings are closed. Previously everyone in Ch.2 was interested in playing, now in Ch.3 everyone just sleeps all the time. Ch.3 should be an upgrade and not a sobering story. Ch.3 is very bad.Of course the old videos but not connected to the game are not part of the game they are just as a level achievement. They should be part of the game.

Tough one to rate, If I was just rating chapter 1 and 2 it would be a 5.

CONS
-The storyline is weak and there is no character consistency "Dad why did you get involved with Yakuza?" As he decides to sell his harems panties to Yakuza.
-The MC is a selfish assshole but everyone thinks he's adorable no matter how many times he caught been a creep.
-The chapter system works great in some games but in this one it is totally a mess. So far in chapter 3 all work been on new characters and all the work put in old characters wasted as you can barely interact with them let alone screw them or anything. You might as well be starting new game. To make it even worse the developer not only cut you off from most relationships you built but the few actions yo do get with them involve them bitching you neglecting them including one thinking of looking for new man...like WTF, don't punish us for your cutting off our time with them.
-Lots of crashing links left from chapter 2 ie chapter 2 prostitutes no longer have animations so clicking them causes crash, scene replays from old chapters not differentiated from new chapter and cause game crash if click old one. Your models all vanish along with their income.
-Game is getting grindier and grindier with more and more obtuse quests that if forums any guide leaving more and more players lost.
-The lack of progress with Paulina across 3 chapters and my boat vanishing. Also the leap from no progress to a single full sex scene and panty loan without any interaction just lazy.

PROS

-Lots of variety in women both physically and personality
-Lots of H content (which added to issues with chapter 3 and total neglect of existing harem admittedly)
-The variety of content is hot, sure theres stuff thats a little much bust mostly its well done and its down to taste.
-The NTR is not bad type and mosty the MC is instigator not victim or its FF NTR rather than another male . Most other male content is avoidable and what is not avoidable is not confronting.



If you just want lots of women getting corrupted the first two chapters are awesome and the lack of character consistency and storyline simply dont matter. Unfortunately so far this has not transferred to chapter 3 with many of old characters not having any content and introduction of cockblocking character in Villa and twins home and removal of mechanics to sleep with the corrupted/loved up characters.

If you are afraid or horrified at the thought of sex with: your sisters, mother, your aunt and a cousin or two, you are in the wrong game.
If you like some huge titty MILFS and a very 'loving' family, you are in luck. There is a Hermaphradite character (no sex option as of v.26), in chapter 3, but you can run in horror if you want, she won't be offended if you run away screaming.

Welcome to the most frustrating game on F95. I want to love this game so badly. It has everything I love: harem, incest, large cast, impregnation teasing, lactation, and pregnancy sex. On top of that, it's all done in Honey Select. Additionally, there is a fucking metric ton of content in this game. So why am I giving it two stars instead of five?

Because the grind... because of the FUCKING GRIND!

It's intolerable. I attempt most games without a walkthrough until I get stuck. I kept getting stuck even with the walkthrough on this game. The story progression is nonsensical at times and things like knowing to click on a 5x10 pixel anus make this game a real hassle at times. That kind of nonsense just saps so much excitement and enthusiasm from this game. I've rage quit this game more times than I can count.

Characters are not fleshed out in any meaningful way. Beyond the typical porn tropes, there isn't much to distinguish them from a multitude of characters in other VNs. The writing is weak, but I do enjoy the crazy nature of the story. It's been fun to see Max go from jailed patsy to porn king.

On the plus side, each chapter has improved from the last in terms of features. I just wish the grind would be reduced.

Recommended to patient people who don't mind playing with a walkthrough.

i have benn palying scince the begeining and it just keeps getting better and better it has had some hickups along the way but is is still an amazing game to play with lots of things to find and lots more to do and explor

Animations are decent for the most part, ranging from bad to pretty good, but it's always good to have them isn't it?
The length of scenes on the other hand? Short, too short.

Characters are diverse, colorful appearance-wise, maybe too colorful in some cases. Giant jugs or ripping, shiny abs that do not match the skin texture of the head/face, it could've been more...conventional, no denying the dev went overboard here and there, but it only applies to a couple of characters out of a fair number, most look fairly normal, and pretty good.
Speaking of numbers, the cast is fairly sizable also.
Personality-wise, they aren't nearly as diverse or colorful. They are fairly empty, one note characters, but it's not so terrible thanks to the kinky nature of the game. They just feel rather streamlined, and they get especially streamlined once they start getting corrupted.

The story is...well, mediocre. It's not trash, but it's no good either. MAYBE adequate for a porn game. But it's hindered by a problem (grind) I'll get back to at the bottom.
The problem with the story is that it's not exactly believable. For example, one character takes a 180° turn in her personality between two scenes for no reason, and stays that way. Because reasons.
Another example would be skipping the hugging/kissing parts in what appeared to be a vanilla-ish romance, and going straight for a handjob, because why not?
But what takes the cake: No porn movies in a Sex shop. Excuse me what the fuck.
The game is riddled with such behaviour, conveniences and bloody hoops which make no sense but you have to jump through them to progress anyway, which more often made me rub my head in my confusion, disbelief or annoyance than that other body-part I should've been rubbing.

On the upside, the amount of content for characters range from decent to quite a lot (excluding grinding), which would certainly make things a lot more enjoyable if not for the collective of every other problem.

Grammar and spelling mistakes aren't uncommon, and phrasing is somewhat simple, basic.
I'm particularly bitchy when it comes to this aspect, yet I did not find myself being annoyed enough by this to consider it a "ruined experience". Well, I did, but not because of this.
Anyhow, I'd rather not have a problem with it at all, but it's sufferable, not that immersion-breaking.

About music and sound effects: No music, period. Sound effects in Ch2 only, and only during scenes (moaning and such).
This isn't necessarily bad, but it sure as hell doesn't make the experience any better either.
Music can change the tone of scenes (sex included but not limited to) or help emphasise them.
Moreover, both music and to a lesser extent, other sound effects serve to occupy your hearing sense, which makes things more enjoyable. Lacking sounds, the experience just felt emptier, (even) less interesting than it could've been.

Gameplay (character development): It's linear and counter-intuitive.
The order in which you have to corrupt them is often fixed, for example: One character's progression requires an event from another character. But this other character's event requires stats from a third one...who can be only found in a bush behind a house at sunday morning...but only if you bought an alarm clock so you could wake up earlier than usual.
Because fuck you.
You often can't focus on whoever you want, it's not an open-world game where you can just run into people during various times/days and corrupt them in various, different scenes, then keep meeting then 'til they become your obedient little pets.
Order is decided, how far you can progress is decided, furthermore only one specific scene, at one specific location, on one specific day, at a specific time of day corrupts them, the other scenes are either unavailable, or a waste of time.
The game also makes you jump through hellish hoops you didn't know existed, which combined with the fixed order, the fixed "progression scenes" and the grind (below), makes the game a rather unpleasant experience.
Now this is remedied to an extent by the built-in walkthrough. However, having to rely on a walkthrough to progress should tell you things, it's not exactly good news.
The walkthrough doesn't just hint what you should do either, it explicitly tells you. Which may be welcome for some, but it takes out much of the "playing" aspect, not to mention it's a mass of spoilers, thanks to its layout (and the fact it's including pictures too).
And it's not perfect either. Remember I told you to progress with one character, you have to progress with another first? The walkthrough isn't unified, it's split for each girl, and sometimes it forgets to tell you that to progress with one, you'll have to progress with another first. It's also missing some steps without which you just can not progress. Good luck searching the forums for answers because you'll not figure it out yourself.

Finally, perhaps my biggest gripe with the game: grinding. It's unnecessary and honestly, it's mind-numbingly boring and tedious to the point I could crawl up the wall in my annoyance.
The thing is, to accumulate corruption/love points for characters, you have to do events with them. I.e.: Watching TV with a character. The problem is, you don't do it once.
No, that'd be fun, and we hate fun.
You do it up to 4-8 times in a row, as if the dev decided it by rolling dice.
Same bloody scene (same place, same time, same day), each rewarding you with 1 point, no other scenes available for that character for progression.
It's time-consuming and tedious even if you rest your finger on Ctrl to skip it all. How could anyone think it's a good idea is beyond me.



In the end, the bad outweight the good tenfold. I can't recommend it to anyone.

Good game, but went down the shitter, when the author added all the sharing and just watching stuff. Also the game is very counter intuitive even with a walkthrough you will have a difficult time trying to get through. Thankfully there are forums and a Discord for help. The main reasoning for the one star is my first point.

I really unestimated this game. But really it blew me away with its animation. I really wasn't ready for that. May be I'm giving it the highest rating only for its animation but it deserves a 5 star for the creativity.

Best game on the site, so many hot scenes that are innovative and raunchy, and not one of the repetitive ones. The animations are great and the game has not so much grind as other Renpy games out there

It's an amazing game with animations, sounds, "puzzles", kinks, yes everything that could be asked for.
Some events takes some grinding to reach and a random factor for some events also prolong the play time, however it can appear annoying but at least it's fast to skip time to a new day and try again, all while earning money each Saturday in the game, so the random factor ain't all bad..
I give it my top score, not only for the greatness within the game but also due to the Dev posting on this site and providing us with an awesome Walk Through.

I honestly despise this game. Not because the girls are ugly, they are pretty. Not because the animations and renders are crap, they are fine actually. Not because the story is horrible, it is fine, although a bit simple which is fine for a porn game. No, I despise this game because it has you jumping through hoops that you did not even know existed until you wanted get some 'progress' with the girls in this game. If you want to get something from girl A, then you need to butter up girl B so she will give you something that might help with that but to get there, girl B needs something from girl C.... This would have been something that could have been acceptable if the game gave clues or hints, or had some kind of common sense logic worked into it. But it doesn't. The way it solves this problem is by giving you a 'build-in walk-through', that is accessible in the game itself (that is pretty embarrassing for a game that is barely a level in complexity above the standard VN game) But it isn't a helpful walk through, it is not a normal 'day-by-day' walk through, noooo, it has everything scattered by Character. Now remember that that the game has all these characters tied into each other in nonsensical ways...it is like trying to solve 2 puzzles at the same time that are nearly identical to each other so you keep using the wrong pieces because they seem to fit so well. For instance: to make progress with a girl, you need to be at location A, on day B during time XX.XX and you also need to have done something else to someone else or for them. How do you know you need to be there at that time and that place you ask? You don't. The walk through tells you, if you found it in there. This is not a 'game' and it is not a VN because those are clear in the available choices they offer. This is a puzzle manual hidden in a farce of a game that gives you some sexy scenes from time to time if you can stand to follow obscured directions and figure it all out. Exploration on your own accord is discouraged because the requirements for certain progress is so obscure, you will never find it on your own. The redo is prettier then the last version, but still as stupid

One of the best adventure games ive ever played. There´s lots of content with very nice and varied characters. The quests are simple and if youre lost you can always check the walkthrough on your computer. The scenes are very hot and varied. One of my favorite games, looking forward to play all that the dev has to offer. This might as well be Summertime Saga Honey Select edition.

The first episode is pretty rough looking and grindy as fuck. Impossible to play without the guide.

The second episode is short and still in development. But it has amazing potential! No more grinding or endless teasing. The gameplay is much more direct and EVERYTHING is ANIMATED BEAUTIFULLY!

It shows that the developer has improved A LOT and that he listens to his fans. I believe the final product of EP 2 could be the BEST game so far based off Honey Select.

Also the story has improved, the characters look more attractive and game has an overall more mature feel to it.

I specially like the new Photo Studio and Strip Club / Brothel aspects of the game. Keep up the good work.

score might be too low, because i enjoyed the 1st chapter, i will gladly play the 2nd but this has just too many flaws.
story isnt really good, so much that i just skip most of the dialogue. characters are meh, deep as a glass of water.
this game is excellent at one thing and that is the sex scenes. a lot of content, wide variety of fetishes, good amount of fuckable characters. which makes it the perfect game to rub one out if you are tired of porn and want something a bit different. biggest problem with that is THE FUCKING GRIND. constantly interruptions because you have to grind to get to the good stuff.

game as a whole isnt really intuitive, you have to use the walkthrough (included in game at least) 80% of the time. events are tied with other characters so you might hit a wall and just pointlessly keep grinding until you realize you have to progress with other character first.

My review:
Good Start introduction. Rate about 3DCG 10/10, story 9/10, & awesome animated 10/10. Nice walkthrough in PC, for lazy people. More broad story line for each lady's out there. I hope next chapter will add more voice that are not less than one voice. More Power Kuggazer and i hope you will continue this game.

Hands down the best honey select Renpy title out there. Plethora of attractive characters. top notch kinky animation sequences rare for renpy games showcasing the designer's time and effort into the project. For all those punctuality preachers, Kuggazer is a pro at keeping deadlines and frequent updates in addition to his in-forum support for all those players with issues. Storylines are simple and not over the top but given the range of sexual encounters with each character the pieces fit into a well meshed plot. The recent time jump introduces more raunchy developments with favored members of the family and many new juicy plot thickeners. all in all i can guarantee balls will be empty with one play-through.
