Don't take things out of context.
Ok. Then you need to either contact whomever this cat "stole" from and get it sorted, or just drop it and leave it the hell alone. I'm waiting for updates to the game, not updates from some putz that wont stop bitching about stolen art on a pirate website. Either way, I'm saying goodbye to you and hello to the ignore button. This went on far to long. Tatty bye.

The irony that this is posted on a piracy site that steals and uses peoples work without compensation is noted.
You know how that sounds? Like you're on a pirate site with an axe to grind against pirates. Hmmmm....

We simply share games that are mostly hidden behind paywalls. Besides, you'd be surprised how many developers do a victory dance when their games show up here. The reason?? We drive more patrons to them.

And we don't use other people's works either. It's the developers who do that, by the way. Like this guy called pepperparon. In this thread. Are you an alt of pepparparon?

We don't steal anything thou, we copie it and hand it around. Much like we all did with VHS tapes back in the day. We aint taking things without asking and claiming that it's ours.

That's kind of funny how you guys bitching about autor of this game using an Akabur's art without permission when the Akabur himself doing his games using other people's/companies settings without asking their consent and making money using the universes created by other people without paying them anything. I also pretty sure that many of you had dowloaded Akabur's games for free, and even if you don't - you just like me using f95 with tons of pirate content and dowload some of it. You are such a hypocrites, it's really disgusting. Don't be like this, shame on you.

You mean like Akabur? Or is Akabur actually J.K. Rowling.

Do you see irony of people bitching how somebody is using something Akabur created to make money while Akabur himself is making money by using something that someone else has created?

Akabur's games are and have always been free, even back when his stuff was on NG.
He draws his own artwork, and has made his own universe and cannon. In other words his works are transformative, non-competitory, and are a form of parody as well.

Those art assets previews are straight up stolen from witch trainer
Seriously, guys, ever considering doing some research?

These are modifications of images from . All of the images there are, " ," meaning that anyone is free to use them. That was part of the reason for their creation, so that people can use them to tell their own stories.

So, the next time you (the collective "you" who incorrectly accused others of theft, not just Astrisk) want to go around accusing people of "stealing" things, perhaps you should first check to see if the author freely permits the use of those materials.

The person/group who's making that has stated that has stated that anything in their tool is public use, but they did not make the assets (or made very few of them.) That does not mean that the original assets themselves are public use.

*Edit* The original witch trainer game was made by Akabur. The original Assets were drawn by Akabur.

I gave a link to Trainer's Image Library, which is a library of images. That Git repository, which includes the Witch Trainer assets, says, when referring to those very images, "All are considered public use".

So, yes, that does indeed mean that the original assets are public use.

Some people are more than willing to share their assets. You shouldn't blindly assume that they're not shared, and then use that assumption to accuse people of stealing. Sometimes those people are just using assets that have been released for public use.

One more time for the people in the back row: The assets have been made available for public use, therefore using them is NOT theft.

If you wanted to make your own game using those assets, you are free to do so as well.

Of course, then you'd have to deal with all of the knuckleheads incorrectly accusing you of stealing. :p

This is not true, the github repo you linked to says:
Disclaimer
We do not claim ownership nor rights for any of the files stored here. All are considered public use and are simply organised here -- only a few of them were created by our group.
If you're the owner for any of the files here and you do not wants us to store it, we will gladly remove it. Please send an email to stregac@yandex.com with proof of ownership and list of file(s) you wants us to remove.
So they don't actually own the rights to those images, they just published them and hope nobody will complain. Only the original author can actually release their work under a licence that allows public use.

You say that what I said is not true, but nothing you quoted there actually disproves anything I said.

Yes, they don't claim ownership of all of them, but they collected the images which were, as far as they're aware, made available for public use by the original authors. Furthermore, this library has been around since June 2015, and despite making it extremely easy for people to claim the images to get them removed, it hasn't happened.

If, as you and others have asserted, Akabur's images are not public domain, then why hasn't Akabur done anything about this? Because he has to be aware of this.

Also, as an example indicating he's OK with this, the "silver" edition of Witch Trainer was made by people other than Akabur, using large portions of his work, but ("adminaka" = Akabur).

You have to go out of your way to ignore these facts to somehow come to the conclusion that they aren't public domain, as the page you quoted indicates.

As long as the original author hasn't released the work under a licence allowing public use, it's not for public use. Just because he hasn't done anything about the repository yet, doesn't mean that he could change his mind at any moment and ask them to remove his work. public domain has a very clear legal definition and your arguments do not fulfill it.

Akabur is cool about the (free, not behind patreon wall, no early access for patrons etc) mod for witch trainer, but it doesn't mean hes allows anyone to use his artwork to make money. BMC is a good example that he does not approve yet he can't seem to do anything about it.

Well... does someone know is this game dead or alive?
Hasn't been active for 3 mouths, 0.05 is still on his page. [likely with fuck all added to it]
However this guy take 3~ mouths for each of his slow ass updates, and the only thing been talked about on the TFGames Forums is if he has the right to use Akabur, in which the mods speak for him. [He hasn't said a single thing on there]
