well...….despite the feed going off on a tangent about engines, its clear from my first time playing that this game has a long long LONG way to go before completion.

the local map has many more locations to unlock and then you have the world map which will, presumably, have a bucket load of locations too.

at this current rate of development, or lack thereof judging from a lot of posts, it will be years until its finished.

quite honestly, all I can hear in my head is the announcer from the arena in FABLE screaming 'mediocre'

Ironically, the first and only time I played this game. The character I actually ended up liking the most was Jadk and none of the four main orcs (Was actually quite disappointed when I found out he didn't have much content)

Apparently a bug, because the scenes are in the files, because you know, only 4 months to test it. Then again, the intro is also still there, so maybe they just felt like removing them.

from what I heard on 4chan, there used to be patrons that complained on their patreon page and discord, these guys got their comments deleted and their pledge was blocked. This is from 4chan so take it with a huge grain of salt.

well, its probably true -- here is a lot of complaints, but i never saw any serious criticism on patreon page. Even if a lot of patrons stopped pledge.

One of the major problems of this game is lack of variability -- really, plot do not depend on that few choices you actually made, and here is almost no events which would depends on your relationships, stats, loyalty, dom/sub... almost all of them in sub route, but because there is any significant demands, you can take allmost all scenes in 1 walkthrough. Became Sabia-of-Schrodinger, you can be dominant AND submissive at the same time. What the hell?! Freedom/slavery... the same problem, but there is few scenes which can be unlocked only when you enslaved catgirls, and no events for freedom path at all.
In general... character of Sabia just do not depend on all of your stats. Just some all-same events can happen on sub (except hellhound. Just because there is hellhound), but there Sabia not very submissive at all, no matter, there is 5 sub or 30. Aaand on sub-slavery route you cannot became slave or somebody else. Tekrok declare that Sabia is his prize aaaand... nothing changed. Dominant Sabia? Have nothing at all. Ok, once she fucked Vehlis. Thats all. No influence, no competition with captains. She do same things as Sabia-sub. In 0.1 we had some variability, but with every new update... there is almost no progress at all. She do not scheme for power or something, just participating in some row of random events. She just drift with the flow. Hell, she did more schemes for killing orcs in bar (no matter dom or sub she is. Sabia dom here and shut up!), then actually to achieve her goals!
Kingdom of Deception is bad visiual novel -- here is walls of boring text, illustrations only for porn, no actual choices.
Kingdom of Deception is bad RPG -- you just cannot play... you know... PLAY ROLE YOU WANT! Because RPG is not about run, grind and fight. RPG is a Role Play Game. And here we just cannot play different roles.
Kingdom of Deception has awful developer -- 1 CG per month, boring plot, boring gameplay, do not actually care about fans.
And all of this... so sad... so many hopes just broken. All this shit started few updates ago, but still, hope was still alive... no more.

I actually don't mind the game continuing for a long time, it just means more porn for us penedeyewink: But the devs really need to step up their game. As it stands now, the only thing this game has going for it is its art and even that hasn't been great lately, good scenes are few and far between. If they cannot fix the problems currently plaguing the game, KoD will become less of a game and more like porn scene gallery and a mediocre one at that.

well, i was thinking about tring to dl and play this game, since story sounds very interesing, but thanks to your post, it will save time of my live, so it will not be wasted on this game .

well, since you would not have to wait 2-3 years to get 0.6, you still can try, just to understand how great potential was wasted. But I would recommend just open Gallery and enjoy some good scenes. And at start game is good (even if rape-scene in the beginng was deleted). But after the trial... well, you already know the problems. So download only for gallery JDmod. Many scenes from previous updates (and some from artpacks) very good.

I left my 5 cents on developer patreon. Told them that game needs repeatable events to break the monotony of reading thru text (or hodling ctrl). After 1st section of the game where u can serve in the pleasure tent the game goes downhill. I was hoping for somekind of menagment and reletionship building game, got a wierd VN with grind...

The RGA is a great event imho.

Yeah, pretty good. But only differences between "routes" here -- sabia-sub would lose few first fight. Just for fun. No matter which captain you choose or which character you trying to play, all the same. You just fighting, no cheats, no schemes (except fucking for another chance). It's bad for such character. And yeah, where is competition between captains? We saw it during the trial, but after it? They just sitting and do nothing against each other. RGA was a great chance for that, as well as HGN, but no. They are just sitting in their tents, I can understand it for Dajrab. Do nothing wrong for tribe is his way... but Rokgrid do not trying make contacts and good relationships with humans, Tekrok do not trying accumulate forces or something... and Sabia do not even using her own soldiers for her own goals. We have little army? Ok, lets run around and finish task's of Warchief or Captain... "hey, I don't have any plans anyway"

Well I tried a lot of things and still I can't fix this error.

After that it just goes to main screen.

I had the same problem with saves made during the progression screen so I made a fix.
Put the file anywhere in the 'game' folder, load your save and click on the 'JDMOD: Exit' button.
Then avoid clicking on it for the rest of the game because you never know what could happen.

Although I am of the opinion that RPGM tends to hide behind the label of "gameplay" what it's usually mindless wandering, backtracking and grinding, thus making its games seem like they are full of content when the truth is that most of game time is actually wasted moving around or in inconsequential fights.

This accurately describes pretty much every RPGMaker game ever made. 15 minutes of actual content, 5 hours of boring fights, and 10 hours of walking around trying to find an NPC that has something worthwhile to say.
