I, and many others have contacted Securion. It's been nearly a week without response.
This doesn't nessecarily have to mean anything. If they're doing something against him you won't see it instantly, the most steps will happen behind closed doors.
I just had a look at the payment methods on the italian site. I took a random game and all I could choose was paysafecard and bank transfer. That's not much, so maybe something happend already.

Securion would will likely reach back to me to show them proof.

Well that's not promising. Any thoughts on the registered mail idea? or what the next step should be?
I'll try to talk with some people in the morning, see what other options we have. Although, again, I urge no one to do anything illegal, I mean this seriously. They hold absolutely 0 legal ground, if someone responds with illegal activities or harassment, then he gains ground.

Too bad the guy made a really stupid move to claim copyright and attempted to resell the games as own work. I'm sure he could have easily gotten permission from devs to distribute translations while only asking for donations from his market to support the services. And the way he's choosing to respond to the confrontation by a dev...sigh. Not too bright to instigate a legal fight with the original developers. This guy is clearly lacking some sense.

I know it frustrating for you, but I think going after them is going to cost you far more than you're going to benefit from it. I've checked their site stats and looks like they receive about 500 page views per day which is absolute peanuts, compared to this site for example which receives around 500,000: a large majority of page views are lurkers and don't actively participate in a site, so only a minute fraction of that would actually subscribe to the website.

Arguably it's already cost you since they filed a complaint with Patreon against you, so it may be the most rational option, albeit the most frustrating one, to just let it go.

Smokeydot's High Rise Climb has been translated into "Big money". Certainly a suitable title as the italian mafiosi of this site sell it for 8€

If they sold just a translation patch, it'd be reasonable. But no, they are selling those games as if those were theirs.
I am unsure on the juridical qualification of such an act, but it might fall under certain italian criminal laws protecting intellectual property.

It's possible that there is the possibility of asking the authority for the telecommunications to take down the site as a precautionary measure, but I need to look into it further to check if it's them you need to ask or the judge.
There are international laws as well that the EU and member nations must abide by. U should be able to sue them here.

Try encouraging people on that site to not support the one who falsely claims the game that its their own

Or maybe hire an italian translator to work for your game so other people will not claim it

You can sue them, that's not even up to debate. What I was saying is that there is a special process through which you can get the competent authority to take down the site without going to trial, which takes a lot of time and money to reach that result.
Unfortunately, you can make said request only via a form on their site and it requires a PEC email address, which is a paid service and, as far as I know, requires to be residing in Italy.

Update from Giochipremium: from is on sale. Italian title: La coinquilina (the housemate ?)
In a couple of days a new game should be up (I have no clue who those characters are):

On a side note, Italian courts are known worldwide for their slowness. Contacting Agcom and/or Securion sounds more viable, imo.

The only positive thing about making games that barely anyone likes is that I am certain no one will steal my stuff (y)

I still think my idea, although not perfectly lawful, is the most viable way to deal with this situation...

A lot of us, maybe a dozen or more, have contacted Securion. Nobody has gotten an email back yet.

What is your idea? If it's illegal, don't do it.

I guess going off the post quoted below that Darlics idea is for the devs to take the offending sites translations and insert them into the games, so that no-one goes to the translators site to buy them anymore? But I don't think that would be a good idea it could just complicate matters if the devs want to do something along those lines it would be better to actually hire their own translators, that way everything is kept above board.
How did I manage to miss this hilarious thread is beyond my comprehension.

Now this is kind of a tough situation since it is difficult to send the whole matter to court (which court by the way, the European one?).
So that made me think: what about one of you guys with money to lose pays for a subscription, downloads the games and then send it back to their respective devs, which in turn will put the thoroughly translated (and presumably correct) version to their patreon page? This is the easiest, most effortless thing that can be done imho and, in a way, it's sort of a win-win situation, or to better say, a steal-steal situation. >:)

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, that one. Just keep it as a last resort solution in case the whole court thing dissolves into nothingness...

Sure this is right, but we're talking about how to deal with this site the best way, not about hiring other people to do the same thing they already did...

Quickest/Easiest does not equate to best, stealing the translations and inserting them into the games could just complicate the legal issues which is why I suggested hiring their own translators, that would be the better option imo.
They could hire their own translators to create legitimate translations of their games
Have a lawyer send a cease & desist to the translation site
Sell their games with legitimate professional translations
Nobody needs to buy from the offending site anymore.
