Obviously driving games, or games like Minecraft don't need 'adult' mods or content.
Some driving games could use an adult mod, this one is a good example.

One of the things that was missing from "Big Brother" was that Max never left the house. A few years a military school would have done him some good...

but let's say that Max talks his mother into selling the house, and starting a family owned and operated trucking business.

You make deliveries to a lot of remote camps in the mountains, presumably there are men working at these sites where you deliver the goods, so there's opportunity for Max to make money pimping out his family. Driving the girls to these locations, running around and picking them up afterwards.

I think you're right, but for the wrong reason.
The problem isn't that the game industry want to be "family friendly", but more that they don't look their market from the same angle than the porn industry. Take the Mass Effect series. As lame and vanilla as can be the adult scenes, they exist and include homosexuality, and despite this making the game totally not "family friendly", the games sold well.
Right, but presumably there was a bean counter somewhere who crunched the numbers for them and gave them some sort of demographic numbers to show that if you include this content, you expand the market for this demographic while at the same time shrinking the markek for this other demographic. I wish more content was made that way, even if I wind up in the excluded demographic like I ame for basically ALL content specifically made for kids. There are exceptions but I can't watch most kids stuff, it either annoys me or bores me. There's no such thing as content that includes all demographics. If it's "safe" for everyone then half of your audience is bored and doesn't even finish the first season.

You want to make a romantic comedy? Fine. Women in general will love it. Most men will skip it unless they're suffering through it with the wife or GF. The opposite is true for action movies. Guys are all over those but women mostly skip it unless they're watching it with their husband or BF. That focus makes it a better show though even if it's not "for me".

The difference is that the porn industry target individuals, while the game industry target peoples.
You'll never see a porn movie "for the 20/25 middle class junior workers". No, porn movies are for teens lovers, MILF worshipers, feet fetishists, and so on. It's games that are made this way, that target a part of the population not by their interest, but by their sociocultural situation. But by doing this, they also explicitly limit themselves to what will be the common interest of this part of the population.
That's why you've games that goes further than "family friendly", like the Leisure Suit Larry series, the already named Mass Effect series or the GTA series. None of them is family friendly but none of them are effectively adult games. The Leisure Suit Larry games were for adult only, but there's no sex, just innuendo. The hot coffee mod was just activating content that they decided to not release and forgot to remove. And, as said, the Mass Effect series are really vanilla. This simply because it's as far as the "common interest" of the targeted population goes.
And this difference come from the production cost. Sell few thousands porn movies and you start making benefits, but for games you need to sell millions of them for the same result ; and so you need a bigger target.
I think there's a big difference between something having adult themes and sort of hinting at it around the edges. I would argue those things are still PG and not really adult content. Even the strippers in GTA had pasties or whatever.

Which doesn't mean that it can't have sex related content. Send spies in an enemy territory, and use them to loosen the morality of the inhabitants. They'll pass more times in brothels than at works, which will slow down their progress and give you an advantage. Or open state brothels in your own territory, as reward for those who works hard, and your progress will speed up, also giving you an advantage.
Sex related content don't necessarily imply that you'll see sex.
Yeah that's not what I meant. For instance there's a strategy game I like called Frostpunk which does in fact have brothells but it's just a building that you don't see inside. It gives you some bonuses and triggers some labor related events but nothing sex oriented. So even though IRL it would be for sex, I really don't count that. It's adult themed, sure but there's not really any adult content.

This is mostly an US thing. Not that it exist only in the USA, but in the rest of the western world there's more freedom. If it really make sense to have nudity at this time, or for a character to curse, then it will happen. By example, it's not unusual to have people sleeping naked in movies/TV shows ; they don't always awake fully clothed, especially when they are supposed to have had sex right before.
But the USA is the biggest audience, and so the limits are put according to its Law and population, either for movies/TV shows, than for games. The romance options of Mass Effect would have been more bold, I'm not sure that they would have included homosexuality in it.
The thing that seems strange to me about it is that some studios have tried making shows that certainly don't rise to the level of porn but definitely do include scenes that would basically qualify as soft core porn and they end up being some of the most popular shows they've made. For instance True Blood by HBO is packed full of scenes that are basically soft core porn, most of the cast gets naked on a regular basis and sometimes even engage in full on orgies. I believe they made like 8 seasons or something so it had to have sold well. Game of Thrones I believe has plenty of sex as well although I've never seen it since it's not on Amazon or Netflix. Same thing with the Sopranos although that didn't have as much sex and nudity, it was in there.

The sex fits the theme for all of those shows though. It's not just thrown in there for no reason. Same thing for a show like Dexter. It doens't even focus on sex scenes but you're watching a show where the main character is a serial killer. Obviously your audience isn't going to be afraid of some edgy content and for the scenes where it makes sense to have some nudity or sex scenes, it has them.

Including homosexuality I think is more of a political agenda from the left rather than based on demographics and they're doing it despite the losses they will take by including it. I only have an issue with it when they include sex scenes for it. Most people are straight and don't want to see that. The entire cast can be gay and it won't bother me as long as I don't have to watch any sex scenes. I really hate it when a company releases a movie, tv show, or game that tries to push a political agenda and preach to me. I don't care what the message is. I want to be entertained, I don't want to be preached to. There are a bunch of recent sequels to franchises that I really liked that I will never see because it's all a bunch of garbage trying to shout to the world that men are trash. Sorry, not interested.

No argument there. Bethesda is definitely on my shit list lately for some of their monetization BS but their support for modding is definitely something that works in their favor, even if they keep breaking it with Creation Club updates...

I still murder people and have fun in games like the Division 2. The lack of nude mods for Overwatch is kind of sad, but I don't like that gameplay. If I am in online shooter, I like persistence like Destiny or The Division.

The games I play a lot?

Incest already baked in. Crusader Kings 2... it's in there. It's not graphic (because laws and shit), but you can fuck your sister. Marrying your sister? More problematic. Like, Excommunication, heresy, etc.

Now, that's 100% fine in Imperator: Rome. Ptolemy already starts with it unlocked (Familial heredity/monarchy), but it's easy to flip to Familial for any autocrat/monarch (which is mainly the Diadochi, like Ptolemy). Again, nothing graphic, but human history is full of incest.

Deus Vult! (Now 100% back in Crusader Kings 3, LOL, after crybaby SJWs got upset about some right-y saying that phrase & temporarily got it banned... but not any more. And, yeah, Incest will be back in CK3.)

So first off, my name on this forum says it all. I love nude mods. I've loved them from the first "nude cheat codes" I can remember on some wrestling game back on Playstation, to the infamous "Hot Coffee" cheat that let you rail your girlfriend on GTA: SA, to nude Zoey re-skins on Left 4 Dead, to countless years on sex sims in Secondlife, and everything in between. I've found myself looking for adult mods to nearly every game I've played since I was in my teens into adulthood.

But when things REALLY changed was when I first started adding sex mods to my Fallout 3/New Vegas, and subsequently, Skyrim. That's when gaming was forever changed for me. Perhaps the easy answer as to "why?", stems back to a long term porn addiction paired with a long term gaming addiction. Two addictions merging into one perhaps? But that just feels like an easy answer to me. I think ultimately what I really want out of my games is that freedom of choice. Playing Skyrim, with all of its quests and lore and NPC interaction is already quite immersive. But when you add in the ability to prostitute yourself, or have sex with the person your character marries, or you're able to walk in on 2 NPCs fucking in their bed when you try to rob them late at night...It just adds a certain level of realism and player freedom that I now crave in all my games.

That being said, I have a hard time playing games that should have adult themes but don't because of societial norms. Games like Fallout seem wrong without sex or at least nudity in them to me. (Edit for clairty: Obviously driving games, or games like Minecraft don't need 'adult' mods or content. I'm talking more about games where it could feel natural in.) Even games I've looked forward to, I find my interest fading fast if I know there's no adult content to be found in the game. Such as The Outer Worlds, which is a game I looked forward to and I've enjoyed a lot...but it's completely sexless, and with no nudity to be found, even though the setting is perfect for it. The fact that it doesn't exist at all just makes the experience feel hollow to me.

In a real life world of sex-demonizing prudes, my gaming time is my escape time. And being an adult, I want adult experiences in my games. There's just such a lack of quality adult content in the mainstream, and so I'm super glad communities like this exist. It's a big reason why I often blast shitty devs in our community, as our little underbelly tribe here should be watching out for each other and wanting to produce quality content, not dragging it down lower with scammy business practices.

Anyways, I'm not really sure of the reason for my post here, other than hoping to hear that I'm not alone. Do you find it hard to immerse yourself into games without adult themes, as well? Does having the option to take adult routes in games matter to you? Just seeing the uproar of normies to the news that Cyberpunk 2077 will allow you to modify your genitalia says it all. When I read the news, I thought, "Great, that'll be like the Skyrim Customization mod!" I hope the game doesn't stop there with the adult themes, either. But the reality is that now people are boycotting the game already because it's being "sexualized". It's why I like the f95 community so much, and why I always push for it to be even better. Because sex and nudity in games shouldn't be such a taboo thing, and people coming together for their love of adult content is pretty cool, IMO.
For me, adult entertainment is for occasions when I'm in the mood for it... I would prefer it stay out of my normal day to day gaming, as it more or less is an unnecessary distraction from the original intent of the game/s I'm playing... Now, that being said, I primarily play MMORPG's and having some decent looking character models is a plus, albeit not really a necessity depending on the game's fun factor... Constant nudity would more or less detract from the story and other elements... If I want to read or play something with lots of nudity, then I either go find a quick flick or spend some time playing Erotic VN's and Games like you see on this site...

And when I do come to these sites looking for some erotic fun, it's those rare gems that I really enjoy, and not always necessarily just for the erotic content... If the story is really good, and the game play is not too tedious or boring, then the erotic content is more like a nice side bonus... Again, it really depends on my mood at the time... Sometimes you just want something quick-and-fun to get your jollies, and sometimes you want to be entertained with a side of jollies... And other variations...

In some ways, I look at it this way... If you are experiencing a very long term and incessant sex drive, or perhaps your sexual maturity is just blossoming as you become a young adult, or perhaps you just need the company of a real woman but have settled for this stuff, then perhaps I can understand someones need for constant sexual content all day, every day, every week, every month, of every year... But there is a downside to constant non-stop input of sexual content into your psyche... Which most likely will lead to desensitizing you to the various sexual content you constantly bombard your senses with... Leading to either a bigger out-of-control (and unhealthy) sex drive, or less sexual satisfaction, etc... Which may require you to need more, but with less/slower end results... And the list goes on...

That's why I partake in this kind of stuff either in waves (by taking long breaks to do other stuff and/or play normal games), or I limit myself as to how often I check out a new title... Because initially when I first got into these sort of Visual Novels and Games, I was pretty much reading/playing nothing but these things for several months... But I began feeling a bit desensitized, and it was becoming harder to find gems in a sea of sand... So i decided several years back, to not do that again... Which, if you look at when I make posts, i'll do them for a while, as well as reviews... Then you will not see me here for a while... It makes revisits much more satisfying and fun, when I do it that way, as compared to before...

In any case, I think too much nudity/sex in my normal day to day gaming would be far too much, and promotes desensitization... And I really am not a fan of modding games, where modding was never something the developers intended for their product... If the product can't stand on it's own two feet, then it deserves to die and fade away into gaming history... But when it comes to games purposefully designed for it (i.e. Minecraft, Seven Days to Die, and so on) I probably still would not want nudity mods...

Once upon a time I tried a nude mod for Sims 2 once, just to see what peeps were going on about, and it really added nothing all that good to the game... Felt too out of place and artificial... If I really wanted to play a simulation game with nudity, I could always go back to Second Life (tried that years ago)... Tons of it in there, and it's better quality then the Sims 2 mods... But even then, it's over saturated through out the adult sectors of that game too...

I went through the same experience as you. I loved playing RPG type games that gave me a way to escape everyday life for awhile. Especially when making a character that I could make look similar to me, and I could pretend I was in that game world. Skyrim for example. I already loved the game, but when I found out that there was mods to make it "more life-like", I was all about it. It started for me by using mods that made it so your character had to eat and drink, and mods like Frostfall and Camping which meant your character and to stay warm and survive the harsh climate. But then I wanted more realism. I thought, you can make female friends and get married and you see little Nords running around, but that's where it stops. So I looked into sex mods such as the SexLab series and I was hooked. It gave my character more purpose than just running around killing things all the time. However, even before Skyrim I was playing games like The Sims 2 and 3 where there was some adult themes, but I wasn't happy. I know it's meant to be played by younger gamers, but I always thought there should be an "adult" option that you could turn on and even have a passcode that a parent can create to keep their kids from seeing what they saw when they played the game. Well, as always I looked to adult mods to get my fix. The reason I'm responding to you is because like yourself, I've wondered if I was the only one thinking this way. I'm pretty sure there are many others that think this way too. And personally I don't like censorship.

Imho modding a game with nudity/porn doesn't add anything for me. Because it just add pixel porn to a game, but have no effect on story or add story content at all. Seeing naked characters walking around random, or give you the ability to have your way with them in any way you want for no obvious reason than "play with your barbies"... Seems so shallow.

Example: Fallout 1 and 2.. They was dark, had adult themes, sexual content, but it wasn't in the graphics. It was in the story and characters. Modding Fallout 4 with adult content doesn't add any value other than nudity and pixel porn. In Fallout 2 you could become a porn star, you could hire your wife out as a fluffer. You could lay with Bishops daughter and wife, then go blow his head off. In the summary end of game you get to know you knocked them up (along with every other dirty or good deed you did).

Although, playing around with Sims3, was kinda fun from the perspective of being a voyeur of sorts. Create a bunch of characters, give them a bunch of naughty traits, then just sit back and watch them interact. What they did and interacted probably made just as much sense as many of the games found on the site here in regard of story and content.

The only big game studies that does adult content (no, adult doesn't equal porn) good these days is CDPROJEKT Red. If you played the Witcher games you would come across quite a bit. Their upcoming Cyberpunk 2027 you can customize your character naughty bits as you please. Heck you if you both a vag and a dick you can have both from what I heard. Bless the little hearts in Japan though, as the game got censored there because of it..

Hentai is hentai. Some H games/manga/bits can show great story... like Sunrider Academy for example but thats an example few and far in between. Most H games i play to grease the pole (in particular Tales of Androgyny)... but i dont nut from a game like Persona 5. So... I would rue the day that would happen if it did for me but hentai doesnt give me the same thrill I got from my recent W in a Fortnite solo game... or a good CoD killstreak... or tearing ass to eek out a win in Forza Horizon 4...

...and i wont even rehash my talk about wish fulfillment and how games achieve that... read up on that for more.

Your dopamine is all fucked up from constantly getting smashed with ultra-rewarding gameplay, even though the games themselves are of severely lower quality than what you could be playing. Take a break from the h games every once in a while. Try doing bursts of meditation here and there to get used to less dopamine being crammed down your throat.

I like H games a lot and spend a lot of time playing/studying them but in no way will they ever hold a candle to regular games for me.

When it comes to story in games, I rarely get engrossed into a non-sex game anymore. Appealing to my fetishes does wonders to keep me hooked, and if a game doesn't have that it needs god-tier writing and atmosphere to retain my interest these days. Didn't use to be like this, I used to play mainsteam and ero-games without discrimination. But as the years pass, I find I care more and more about gameplay mechanics than story. Especially with today's overly-politicized writers in the gaming industry. Playing story- and dialogue-heavy games is like walking through a minefield, I never know when it's going to get all soapboxy about contemporary social/political issues, destroy my immersion and mar the rest of the writing for me. The same apprehension doesn't apply to ero-games because I expect them to be naughty and offensive to my sensibilities, it comes with the territory.

I agree with not nutting to a game like P5. It just... makes sense to me not to nut to characters from games you like from a certain degree onwards, I guess?
