Yes, for anybody who ends up reading this thread - the DUF file that you produce with Daz Studio does not contain all the content required to render. It generally contains the meshes and their positioning, etc., but it doesn't contain any of the materials. Those are included "by reference" - the internal Daz path name to the texture files is embedded, but not the images themselves. So anyone who is going to render one of your files has to have all the materials that you used installed. (Otherwise, they get a pop-up complaining about missing materials. That's useful, however, since it can identify what they lack.)
