There are other situations in which you can help, so the question isn't unprecedented.

You may not be able to become Batman in this game, but I think the DoL orphan could think of a few different ways to deal with the aggressor in this situation. All the TF's with pointy teeth spring to mind.

while the other lady?boy? victim gets away. but i agree i feel liek this game should give you multiple options to save that person..unless that "Thump" was a killing blow and they just need help burying the body +fatigue +athletics +crime

also sometimes you get a random event at home, with some one playing music but Baily (rng) will put a stop to it and drag her away fro not paying....why can i not intervene like i do in the hallway and just pay for her?

I think it plays out differently with high hope/rebelliousness.

2. Keeping Kylar gets you pepper sprays (not that it stops you from dismissing Kylar afterwards);

Question: is there anything Whitney brings to the table in the same vein, something that can aid the player? Something just as permanent/constant as the aforementioned ones, i.e., more than "the character can sometimes show up to save you from a random encounter".

The best and most rewarding thing you can do with Shitney is trigger her dismissal event.
My personal hate aside,the wiki does mention some stuff with Bailey and Whitney...

RayBar I did skim through that page to see whether there is something related to my question, but either I was blind as a bat or there is nothing. That does indeed leave me with the impression that dismissing Whitney is the best part of having Whitney around.

P.S. In the meantime, I found out that the gold chastity belt is a repeatable find (and even found it twice before having to resurface for air ).

I thought Whitney could build something in the attic, but I might be remembering wrong. I know Kylar can.

it costs 2000 and helps a bit w the orphanage rebelliousness
