Hey guys.
For the last couple of years I've been developing an idea for a Ren'py game.
It would be female protagonist, very much in the same vein as Jessica O'Neil's Hard News (the idea got started in 2014).
I've already got 28+ characters (base figures with individual custom modifications), and I've got roughly 165 pages of actual screenplay.
It's nowhere near finished - the final page count might actually come closer to 400 or 500 pages in total, and that's only for Chapter 1 (of 3).
The story and the characters are already fleshed out, and and it would be saturated with sexual content - none of this blue-balling bullshit.
Initially, I developed this project as a legit hardcore porn series that was character driven, with a really heavy focus on lesbianism.
However, it's not that easy to break into the porn industry nowadays as a director with no experience or contacts, so here I am.
The central idea is that a young columnist gets the opportunity to do heavy duty investigative reporting on three big cases.
Each investigation would take about 3 weeks, during which her life would change drastically (for the better, of course).
Main kinks would be lesbianism, voyeurism, exhibitionism, BDSM, femdom, incest, foot fetish, monster sex, etc.
The game would be racially diverse, and focus on seduction/corruption, with a strong emphasis on agency.
This means that the character won't be a total retard, but rather, a young woman with needs and desires.
The game would be pretty linear, but you could avoid content, which would lead to a different ending.
Either way, here are some really basic renders for the main characters.

If you're interested in seeing more, I posted 5 different batches of test renders for Ellen and Crystal on the following link (it's the last post in there, and it continues on the following page): . I honestly don't know if I'll move forward with this project, because it might take me away from things that I would like to accomplish with my career, but I'm willing to think it over, and do some fun renders on my free time. After all, if @Philly_Games and @stoper can do it and get such outstanding results, maybe that would be something worth considering - though I only have a GTX 680. I love the characters, the story, and the buckets of sexual content that the screenplay currently has, and I think that it would be fun to share it with the F95 community. So, let me know if you have any questions, and as Pewdiepie says "like, share and hit that notification bell" (seriously, T-series can't be allowed to win).
Cheers.

It seems like you have already put in a lot of dedications so I definitely think you should go ahead with it.
Don't think to do this is career changing. Most do stuff like this as a side thing (until they hit the jackpot and can make a living with it). But it does require a lot of time and effort. Which you seem you already have done some of.

The advice I can give is to study and practice a bit more on lighting and scene making. Far from bad but none of the renders make you go "amazing!". Need to have that extra edge if you truly want fast success.

Example, stoper really stood out due to his amazing render skills.
While Philly due to his unique storytelling skills and amazing story. (He is an amazing artist but his first renders are nowhere near the level he is at now, so what sold it for him was before mentioned stuff)

I think this is where the going gets tough.

Ask yourself 3 1/2 questions:
1) Is this something I realistically want to follow through with?
2) Do I honestly have the time to do it?
2a) And if not, would I be willing to hand off some of my vision to other people?
3) What do I both need help with the most, and type of help would help me move forward more?

Perhaps having someone else be involved would help you move forward. But that is only if it works for you. I think you have a vision here. But it feels like you are not quite sure of what to do with it. Your title asks about creative writing, but your post is mostly about the character renders. And it sounds like you want/need suggestions on how to move forward, which is more about the process of developing the game than anything else. So what is your real concern, and what would help you move forward the most with creating the game?

Talking to other people is a good first step. So please do tell us more and ask us more questions. But focus on the help you need the most. The suggestions you get in terms of creative writing are very different from the suggestions you would get in terms of renders or game development.

Some small clarifications first, the game would be called "Creative Journalism". It would be somewhat realistic in the sense that it would take place in the modern world, with real-life consequences. The monster sex would only take place either in dream sequences, or as part of supernatural occurrences that fall outside of the norm.
Aside from those events, the game would be strictly about lesbian (and possible incest) content. There will be no men - at all. I know there's a lot of hate for female protagonists on this site, but I personally have no interest in having a dick in there. Best I can do is probably a futa (for dream sequences), and even that I'm not sure about.
Completely agree with the comments above. The renders I put up are nothing special in terms of graphical fidelity - they were just really basic images made with iRender, and no scene lights. I spent a great deal of time modifying the base characters to my liking, only to have a hard drive failure, which forced me to start from scratch.
The issue is that, even if I wanted to create renders that could even begin to approximate some of stoper's and Philly's works (which is the only way to go about it), I don't know if I'd be able to, due to my fairly old - yet reliable graphics card. Sure, I could invest on an RTX 2080, but the idea doesn't justify the investment yet.
With regards to the game itself, I wouldn't have the time to do the Ren'py coding, so I would definitely need to bring on a collaborator. In essence, I'd only be able to handle the writing and the Daz images - and for the renders, I'd need to put in a lot of time and effort to make them look good and interesting.
* Is this something that I realistically want to follow through with?
Not sure. I don't want to start something that I'll have to abandon at some point. It's not fair to the community, and would simply be a waste of time for me. Not really doing this for the Patreon bucks either.
* Do I honestly have the time to do it?
Again, not sure. I do have free time, which I sometimes use on catching up with movies and TV shows, but my career will always be my first priority. That will not change regardless of any success I might find.
* Would I be willing to hand off my vision to other people?
No, under no circumstances. I'm willing to collaborate with people, but I won't give my screenplay - which accounts for years of my time - to other development teams. That's my intellectual property.
* What do I both need help with the most, and what type of help would help me move forward more?
Surface editing, light and shot composition, and iRay shader/render settings. I simply don't know how the great artists on this site are able to create photo-realistic skin and renders. I've got a bunch of tutorials that I've downloaded over the years, but they haven't yielded the results I wanted, which have left me a bit demotivated. Probably the best course of action would be for me to contact those artists myself, and ask for advice. If I see that I'm able to move forward in a tangible way, and create renders that I can actually be proud of, then that would be enough to keep me going.
Anyways, here are the rest of the basic character renders.

Hey guys.
Here are more basic renders I've done with some of the characters.

And here are some more "advanced" renders (if they could be called that). I'm using actual lighting, like some of the developers I've talked to have suggested. It's nothing mind-blowing, but I think I found a happy medium. Each image roughly took 2 hours to render, and there was a lot of tweaking the lights, camera angles, poses, and finding a suitable workflow for a series of images (because Daz is dumb like that).

Good job mate, the renders of your characters looks good to me.
Just one thing, hope you dont get offended by this, but some of your characters have names that doesn't fit at all. I mean especially the mix of foreign names and Italian surname and vice versa. They make a strange contrast which brakes immersion and make things comical.

i like that its focuesd around lesbianism. tired of every female protagonist being raped by some old/disgusting guys. love all the kinks you listed and having so many characters means you can have so many fetishes.

Hey guys. Here are some new renders with Emily, the game's protagonist. I've been testing different lighting set-ups and trying to add a bit more "oomph" to each image (but I guess it's all subjective anyways). Hope you like it.

Here are also some older, more basic renders that I did with Emily's sister and niece (yeah, actual mother-daughter content). Just wanted to consolidate all of my renders onto one place. But don't worry, I'm not going back to the black background. From now on, it's fully-fledged scenes with proper lighting and visual storytelling. Cheers.
