The short story behind this is the team transitioned from UE4 to UE5 since new UE releases get about 10 years of support from the developers of the engine and plenty of collaboration and advice sharing from game dev forums. Prior UE releases get less support over time as Epic no longer works on the engine and game devs no longer use it or offer advice for it.some nonsense, downloaded the latest version, and there is almost no content. Three cripples and a pleasure island. Two years ago I downloaded there was a lot of content. Especially remember the moment with the snake on the dock. Now there's nothing. This is bullshit.
Jarring content losses to build back to are the standard problem with this kind of situation. The team had to do it to keep the game worthy to continue building during the following years, so they switched to an engine that will stay good in the long run. They're restoring content over time.
We talked about this before in the thread, try searching "engine", "UE5" or another related term.
