I want to save my game but I cannot get the menu to show up.

Is there a save hotkey that is commonly mapped?

Any thoughts, friends?

Looks like you only have menu access some of the time:
During the parts where you get the isometric view and RPG gameplay, you have access to the menu with save, just like with all RPGMaker games (ESC, X, etc)
I don't know what engine version this one is as I hit the mega quota half way through, but I haven't had any issues with menus in older RPGM games in Wine. MV games that I've tried either had a Linux build or I successfully stuffed them in njws myself.

You have to wait until you are at a section like this before the menu works:

To be fair I did use njws instead of Wine. You should be able to (69.9 M) next to the Laura_LS-v1.5c_fix folder and run it from laura_LS-v1.5c-linux/laura_LS-.sh. If you have the full version you would just need to recreate the www symlink to point to the correct path.

Yeah, now knowing this is happening in Linux, there's probably some funky interaction with whatever the OP is using to run the games and their OS. The fact this is something they experience on every RPGM game they try, this is definitely an issue on their OS, their install of the tool, or its config

POL is based on Wine, right?

Yes, it's a GUI front-end that helps you manage different Wine prefixes and allows you to choose different Wine versions for a prefix. Though even its base Wine versions have some custom patches applied nowadays.

 I suppose it could be an issue with his prefix, particularly if it's a shared one, or with that specific Wine version.

In which case installing the game to a fresh prefix would be a good first step to try. If that doesn't help then again with a fresh prefix but using a different Wine build.
