Ren'Py - Abandoned - Camp Pinewood [v2.9.0 Bugfix] [VaultMan]

I play this game in one run while the pandemics, it feels like a fever dream cause the plot doesn't not make any sense and events feels trigger almost ramdomly.

However the art and its hummor are quite good,

It doesn´t deserve two stars but because the art is very good I will be nice.

The dialogue is very bad and it isn´t really sexy or something either just boring and bad.

The story is a complete dumb mess nothing makes sense.

The music is fine I guess but nothing special.

The sex scenes are not good.

And the worst problem is that it is full of bugs.

Great animation and smooth gameplay but trash story and confusing gameplay. Lots of repetition that gets boring overtime. Missions cant be completed until you talk to a certain character for some other mission - makes no sense and takes so long.

As other said Art great, every thing else meh...

Dialogue was bad, dev didn't like critsism on that think that just fueled him more to not fix it.
The bugs, oh the bugs not as bad Goodnight Kiss's dev I love his work but I think he doesn't know python I don't either so yeah. But in this case it was more like I ain't got time to fix it I got new random things to add.

Like biggest issue was new random stuff took precidence over quality control. Its like ok dialogue is bad, but but I got new art so screw it who is playing a vn to read dialogue. Normally I would go not that important, but it has to at least be meh, some of this games dialogue was worse then an old school porno where the star was pizza guy...

Boring game.I dont even play it till the end.It just plain boring.

To be honest,its one of the game that will make you sleepy after play it halfway through.Its grindy,and the sex scene arent that satisfying..I dont recommend it unless you into grinding things like searching and buying many items for the girl to raise their affection.:/

Camp Pinewood is a pretty good parody game I don't think it deserves a four star review but it most certainly does not deserve a three star. This game is enjoyable to play and overall looking at it strictly from story it's a pretty great game. The problem is that the game has way to many bugs due to that it's a very hard game to sit through while you try to play and certain objects just don't work and sometimes doesn't allow you to actually complete the game. I'm hoping for when this game gets updated that the update primarily focus' on the bugs before VaultMan continues on with the story, I feel this game has potential and I'm willing to keep an open mind and change my review if a review change is due. I would not recommend playing it until the game fixes its bugs, it's a great story and the bugs ruin it almost entirely.

Don't be a idiot like those 2.321 patrons who were fooled by the cartoonish design and the appeal to see their waifus in lewd scenes. This is, and by far, the worst adult game that I've ever had the displeasure to play. Ohhh boy, I don't even know where to begin with. Normally in my reviews, even when the game is very bad, I usually talk about its many aspects, from gameplay to sound effects, but in this case, after my painful and disgusting experience of diving in this deep ocean of shit called Camp Pinewood I was left without energy (or any will to live anymore) to write a more detailed review. Geeeez I never saw a game so poorly made! I kid you not, this game is so terrible that even those 90's desktop strippers (yeah, those 2 frame 24x24 gif of a woman having a seizure who are downloaded bringing a thousand of virus) can give you a boner easily than this scam. So, if you have a little love for yourself, stay miles away from it.

Vaultman started out as a good artist and an ambitious game developer.
Now he's a lazy artist and moronic game developer.

Don't want to take all the space required to explain the 100 different things wrong with this developer and the ridiculous path he paved to get here.

The Unity version is worth a play if you're looking for 25% of a complete game.
Renpy is only good for a few animations. Other than that, it's just a slap in the face to all longtime supporters.

This game needs to have the tag "rape" added for what Vaultman has been doing to 2,400 patrons on a monthly basis.

Used to be in a good place, it had problems during it's Unity era but instead of trying to solve them the creator just scraped the whole thing and restarted in a new engine.

Its almost like he forgot what he learned from the Unity version, it's barely a game now, you can just get with any girl without raising their relationship probably because those stats just aren't programmed in this version.

The story is laughably bad and just all over the place yet it has an even bigger place in the game now. It used to be that you could just side step the story and raise affinity with the girls and get their scenes, only advancing the story when you wanted now the story is the only thing you can do.

A ton of old scenes are now animated but somehow look worse than when they were just still images and the newer stills are absolutely god awful.

Everything about this project just reeks of milking, the author began the process of moving the game to another engine as it seemed like the game was nearing its end on Unity, so he remakes the whole thing. Just remaking it isn't enough to keep the patrons paying so better remake the CG as well, so now he has another year or 2 of guaranteed income while he remakes the stuff that already existed and didn't need to be remade.

Remember kids, gotta milk all them patreon bucks instead of making a worthwhile game.

TL;DR - (Review for Ren'Py Version 1.9.5) - Don't bother, this here is a piss-poor attempt at clobbering together a game with all the elements scattered after changing the engine for no apparent reason. If you wish to give this a spin, go for the Unity version.

Well well well, this "game" cropped up so often, I remember playing it back when it was run on unity - back then, it was great, an easy contender for 4 stars, nowadays? Honestly, you shouldn't bother for at least a year or two and even then it may still be horrible.

Nevertheless - I feel like I should justify this harsh intro somewhat, so I'll start out with what is good:
-To be frank, the games' concept is honestly great - Take a whole lot of different females from all kinds of shows, slap them in a summer camp and go wild as the only male to chase after all of them.
-This also goes into the next point: The variety of different characters. Taken from all kinds of different shows. See if you can figure out where they all come from, though some may be more obscure than others.
-The Art Style is pretty damn good and stays consistent throughout the game. While you can notice drops in quality here and there, the consistency is what clinches it and allows for you to enjoy these characters.
-The grind is held to a minimum, even in the Unity version which is a great plus.
The Ren'Py version straight-up has no grind and basically only allows you to mess around with the girls and go after the critical path of a "story" on display.

However... This is pretty much all there is to say that one could classify as positive, and with all things good, there's also things bad:
-The most glaring issue is the horrible translation. Usually this isn't a deal-breaker for me, which should give you an indication as to how bad it is in places if I have to bring it up. Typos and the likes can occur, granted (as they have probably in this review already), but it's bordering into horrible Engrish from time to time, and some typos are still in the game, even carried over straight from the unity version.
-At this point the Ren'Py version doesn't even classify as a "game" anymore. It's just a glorified scene gallery. You go around, get to the girls and instantly can do whatever you goddamn wish with no rhyme or reason. The old Unity version at least had some gameplay loop and progression, which ties into the next point...
-The content is extremely shallow and bare-bones. There's next to no character development, except for a select few and even what is there might as well be non-existent. A vast amount of scenes are still images with next to no text at all for compensation, if any. Rarely ever do you get to see an animation, which in turn is -at best- a quarter-second loop. Again, it seems like there is overall just way too little thrown together into too big of a playing field to actually work with.
-The game is notorious for being riddled with gamebreaking bugs. Looping "story" events, attributes not changing properly and thus locking off content, straight-up oversights which should never occur to this degree as they have >constantly< happened over the last bunch of updates.
-And this also goes into what little one could call a "story". While it is true that the setting doesn't allow for huge development in terms of a plot, the unity version at least had something you could work upon while trying to get intimate with the girls. This is just... nothing really. While it now has a decent-ish intro that sets the scene, everything beyond that is just meaningless fluff, meant to distract from all the glaring issues.

The biggest issue I see is honestly due to the transition of the game from Unity to Ren'Py. With the promises of faster loading times, less grind and more frequent updates - What we got is the shell of a game, barely reaching the status of a tech demo, as many of the core features that were present in the base game are still absent from this version alltogether or not fully implemented - Just for the record, this transition was made well over a year ago.

Honestly, there's more to talk about than just that, but I feel like I shouldn't waste yet more time on this than I already have. So my final verdict: If you want to potentially enjoy this game, grab yourself the unity version (it is kept for a very good reason) and spare yourself what little "extra" content there might be in the Ren'Py version. You'll only be vastly disappointed.

T'was good, use the Unity Engine if you want to experience the good parts, all new updates are updates to a broken renpy version of the game and new scenes are seemingly made for some flash game back in 2012..

Didn't play the game from nearly 2 years
0.7 was better more content and more enjoyable

Here's a list of what we lost/What is worse than 0.7:

- We can no longer named the mc
- Even the introduction of the game is bad, it's confusing why are you the only man in the camp?, who are your roommate?, why are people that you don't even know asking you do to their labour ?
- We lost a lot a freedom for a confusing mix of """open world""" and linear progression with the story making little to no sense
- There's no longer any song or background music
- The dev transitioned from unity to renpy but for what purpose ? we can't skip dialog or rollback (and it didn't make the update faster or loaded with more content)
- We lost sex content with several character (there's some new one with "show butt" and "show tits" yeah ...)
- Most of the time camp seems to be uninhabited
- Some period of the day you simply have nothing to do (btw you can't sleep)
- We lost interactions with elements of the game and have the option to search as a remplacement
- Sometime a character is in the room doing nothing but you can't speak with her
- The sex scene of frankie display those of gwen and most of gwen's simply don't display anythings (btw they are the only character with some significant content)
- There no longer a way to check which character is in the game and what your relationship points are with them
- There no longer a way to check your stats
- And judging by the image folder of the game and my progression your in for 30 min of """gameplay""" and unengaging story
- Of course the gameplay is overally terrible

I used to love this game....Until this shady dev kept delaying all content. The game has come and gone with absolutely NOTHING new. And dont hold your breathe hoping the next update will produce content, It wont.

2.0 was supposed the be released now, its delayed to "later months" never seen something so vague. VAULTMAN will tell you the next update comes out this date. It has never come out on time.

This dev and game is worse then a wife and mother....and thats saying something.

I'll give this game a 4/5 stars. I sincerely hope that they figure out the reworks that come with engine changes, before more people start leaving. Besides that, the plot and pacing if the game could use a little change. I'm personally fine with it, but I feel that some people may dislike it.

Has a good chill premise with minimal complexity. Game's simple and has quite a bit of content, but you might end up not being able to continue the plot without a walkthrough. It does pick up, though, and once it does it's as good a game as any, with all the rewards you'd expect from a group of hotties and being the sole handsome bloke there. There could be more girls, though, to make it feel as big as it tries to be, but I suppose it cannot be helped when it's pretty much a parody of all you've ever wanted.

It's the only game with all our favorite childhood crushes. The art is amazing, I love it. The gameplay is a bit early and with some bugs and updates are very slow though. Take my 5 stars with pleasure and I hope everything stays great!

Good artwork but terrible gameplay. Barely more than a simple clicker game with extremely short H-pictures (you can't even call them H-scenes as 'scene' implies more than just one click to go through the entire sex).
