VN - Ren'Py - Blurring the Walls [v0.5.2] [Torimiata]

This is a review for v0.5.2.

Gameplay: It's a kinetic novel as ofcurrent standards. There are choices it seems, but they mostly influence the flow of some scenes, but this new version seems to be attempting to include some semblance of "tags" that are required for some choices/lines to be picked. Not that this is bad or good, it is simply how it is.

Art: I am not artist, but if you're going to use AI art, this is how. There are no apparent mistakes or jarring visual shifts, the girls have SOME inconsistency when it comes to breast sizes/proportions, but even then,a human artist isn't 100% consistent either way. The takeaway is, it is AI art, that you can tell is AI art, but it isn't low quality.

Soundtrack: There is some attention to detail here, the pieces shift and cut when the scenes end, the girls are voiced by moans when the scene requires it, and ambient sounds are included, all in all it isn't shoddy work you can tell someone gave it some thought.

Writing/Story: Now we're getting to the good part, the story follows the protagonists, Ayumi and Kento as they go on a vacation with their friend Terrace. Part way through, Kento's ex is introduced.

The tropes are all there, Ayumi is a shy but exhibitionist slut, Terrace is your filler bull character, Kento is a shy passive cuck, and Ari is a pushy devious ex who "knows" about he MC's kink.

The colors are all the same you've seen in any other NTR, the refreshing part is the way the side-cast is handled, Ari is pushy and devious, but she seems to want to have fun with the MC and his kink. Terrace may be the bull, but he is also relatively shy and laidback.

And the story, was progressing in the slowest most excruciatingly good slow type of burn, but as it spent so much time on the climbing up to the diving board, it's now in a grand 4 spins 5 double-jumps 3 figured athletic dive, this WILL be jarring, hot. But jarring.
I feel I have to comment this too, it isn't poetry, and it isn't your typical VN dev with his passing 10th grade English mark trying his hand at writing, the dev can write.

Closing Thoughts/TLDR(contains spoilers): It's a darn good VN so far with controversial choices, in a world of NTR, it's NTS. In a world of hand-drawn/koitatsu/wathever engine, it's using AI but it's using it well.

I will say this though. The story threads DANGEROUSLY close to feeling NTR (only in feel, because in practice you, the MC, as okay'ed more or less everything that goes on). If you're into Exhibitionism and NTS this will be right up your alley.

unlike most of games with these trope, the NTR/Corruption comes with a lot of story progression, really looking forward to what comes next each update.

the AI CG might put a lot of people off but this is probably one of the best IMO, consistent, very pretty heroine as well.

Has huge potential but a bit boring as of V0.5.0

+ Character designs are great.
+ Writing is above average aside from the pacing.

= I don't really care for the animation style. Would rather just have still CG but it's not a big negative.

- The disclaimer at the beginning of the game was not kidding when it said this is a slow burn. I'm not the type who needs immediate slutification or just skips to the gallery or whatever, but idk how many times "yes I like being teased" and "yes I like it when you attract attention" needs to be rehashed. There is a difference between slow progression and almost no progression.

I love the game but I can't recommend it to anyone looking for the NTS experience for the time being unless you like being blueballed or have literally nothing else to play/read.
Sure, there is a huge amount of text but almost nothing happens. A huge nothing burger imo.
The biggest thing I've seen is some exhibitionism and lesbian kissing.
If you're looking for some actual netorase sex or sharing content, you're out of luck (at least for now).

Edit: Okay, I MAY have been a little too extreme with my review. There ARE vanilla sex scenes and they are also pretty hot between the MC and the FMC. If you're into femdom and "what if" situations and roleplays, then this is the game for you.

The art looks good and unlike many other AI games is fairly consistent.
The story is a bit shallow at times and it feels more and more like a kinetic novel. Far to few choices with little to no impact.

This game is extremely hot. The best part is the writing, but the art is a very close second. There's some spelling and grammar mistakes throughout the game that could be fixed with a proof reading. Sometimes as simple as the wrong but similar word being used. The other reason I didn't give this game 5 stars is because it's AI art. Most of the time it's fine and you probably won't be looking too closely anyways, but there's definitely a point or two where it throws you off. There's a background image near the beginning where it has an outside window on the wall showing the sky, but on the other side of the wall is clearly a bedroom. It's the common inconsistences that you get from AI art. This game has some very surprisingly consistent art with the characters, and honestly the occasional "wtf is that?" in an image might actually be better than games that have multiple artists contributing pieces that are clearly from different people's styles.

Overall, it's a great game and just needs more polishing. One thing to note however is that this definitely falls closer into kinetic novel than visual novel. There's a choice or two that's significant, but it seems most don't matter or are just to skip ahead over bits of fetish content players may not care about.

For me, this is probably the best NTR game i have ever played, for a couple of reasons.

This is slow paced, but not in a bad way. The story builds up in a realistic way, and it does not jump the gun. And the story is amazing, and its very well written. Like a fine vine, you want it to last, and you don't want to skip to get to the naughty graphics. If you do, you will absolutely miss out.

The characters are likable, and i feel as if everyone is doing whatever they are doing with respect of the MC. And the MC and his girlfriend are exploring things TOGETHER. No one is hurt, no one humiliated. Its pure excitement and it feels both forbidden and realistic.

I love how you don't get to see everything but instead is teased and given room for your own assumptions and fantasies. You get to feel what the MC feels.

The graphics are AI generated, sure. But i think it looks great, and i don't mind one bit. I bet there is a ton of work put into it regardless.

This game is a rare gem on here that manages to take the feelings of desire and lust and work them into a character-driven story that I personally would read even if the sex was "fade to black". The effect choice has in this game is pretty limited for now. I don't know if that will change much in future. At the moment you're choosing how far you go rather than what you will do as a character. Maybe that will change, I don't know, but I'm enjoying where we are right now. And with how fast the updates are coming out and the QUALITY (AI done right) it's one to support if you can or at least grab for your library on itch.io.

Very nice till now, slow progressing and very exciting. The AI art may look goofy at some times, but the choice on the design compensate for it, and in the end it grows on you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and you end up liking it

This is the best netorase / sharing game on the entire internet. And as a fan of the genre this is my favourite VN like game of all time.

If you're interested in netorase / sharing at all, this game is a must play. The author is a master writer when it comes to building suspense and teasing the MC / player while making it slow burn enough that it seems very realistic.

I love that the game is very sexual while not just blowing it's load early and ruining the suspense / build up like so many other games do.

Also, the visuals are excellent in their own right. Like a 4.5/5 for me. Keep in mind the story is a literal 10/5 (hehe).

Please support this dev on Patreon if you liked the game as it's the best netorase / sharing game by a mile.

I tried this game out and I'm not disappointed, it is a true slow burning NTR tease nightmare, or heaven hehe. And it works, i love it so far and can't wait to keep playing, to see how far and depraved it will go, great game for everyone interested in NTR Teasing

At the time of writing this review, the story to this game is just about to take off but the potential it has has already won me over to give this 5 stars. There has been no other game that has done what this creator is doing. The use of AI is a smart move, as long as it is pared with actual art and edits,; it's done in a smooth way. I hope Torimiata stays true to his own ideas and the narrative he has in mind, and doesn't pander too much to requests.

First of all, don't allow the AI art tag to turn you away. The artist trained a model based on his own art and went back and fixed all the typical AI weirdness. You wont find any lovecraftian hands in this game.

The last time I played a vn and actually enjoyed it was katawa shoujo like 15 years ago, so I hope that really puts some weight behind my 5 star rating.

The game has an NTR tag. Specifically this game is netroase so that means that the girl is being shared with the main character's consent. There is no humiliation- in fact its quite the opposite. The other guy who the girl is shared with isn't just some heartless playboy- he is friends with the MC and treats him appropriately. I love the personalities and relationship dynamics between the characters. Ari (second girl) really ties things together and moves the plot along in a way that feels very natural. The writing is great. The art is great. Don't skip on this, even if you aren't a fan of vns.

This shits fucking goated. Been watching this since about half a year ago when it released on a different site using rpgm instead of Renpy (great choice to move by the way).

Anyways love this so far, the teasing and playfulness is great. And the vanilla scenes help keep everything together which is great since you keep the vanilla scenes shortish so they don't become boring. But the ero scenes are long since well... that's what we're all here for. Though you still need that soft romance to add to it. Great job on how you've split up your writing so far. Character models and art is great, I think probably about as good as you can get without getting a full team going.

My only real critiques are sound effects are a bit iffy at times, and sometimes prose.

Without gushing too much, this is what every other NTR AVN wishes it was.
Art is fantastic
Characters are fun and well written in their dynamics
Story is slowly building but has lot's of sexy interludes
Take notes everyone, NTR is only good when the characters care about the relationship. Whether cheating, sharing, swinging or stealing; it's the tease/denial, will they/won't they, freedom and attempts to stop that make it exciting.

This game makes sure to establish the strong loving relationships these characters have with each other which is good because if your characters don't care about each other than neither do I.

Also reminds me of Girlfriend Tapes; but if everything that was wrong with that game and it's characters was fixed.

Tl;dr: Believable slow-burn netorase story with beautiful, curated and consistent AI CG, fantastic dialogue, likeable characters - not for impatient coomers.

Let me start with this: You can kind of tell by the ratings this game received, that you'll either love this game or dislike it, there doesn't seem to be an in-between. Now, you can also tell that the vast majority does in fact love it. And that the only people criticizing it, do so mostly due to the fact that they have to read a lot of dialogue or that the transitions spook them when they CTRL-skip through the dialogues. There isn't even any typical and expected AI CG hate, it's really just people complaining about either not liking the premise of the game (fair, I suppose, but why play it then?) or just nitpicking the most mundane stuff, sometimes straight up lying.

With that out of the way, let me summarize why this game deserves the praise it is getting from most of the sane people on this site that are not opposed to NTR/NTS content (you really don't have to love it, just be open about it).

First and foremost, this is a well written story. That alone elevates it from about 90% of the infantile, incoherent and illogical plots games on this site have to offer. Now, this might be irrelevant to some of you (see above and evaluate for yourself whether you are a coomer who only cares about boobies and find any form of text annoying), but if you belong to the section of users who like to immerse yourself somewhat into the story, appreciate natural and believable conversations, a decent pace and personalities, then this game will be for you.

"But it has AI CG, it is stealing from real artists and it's shit and they have 6 fingers and I really hate change and wish to live in the past forever!" - Stop it. Yes, the artwork is based on AI generated images. However, the dev is clearly very talented and diligent and has not only, I assume, created detailed LoRAs for each characters that support the visual consistency of the characters between each image, but also manually fine-tuned the images, improving the quality and exterminating any immersion-breaking factors like unnatural anatomy, improper artifacts, anything of that sort. Of course, if you have seen a few of those AI generated Anime pictures in the past, you will most likely recognize a vague art style prominent in such AI CG due to the source material fed to the models, there are some distinctive yet still subtle features about it. However, it still does not break immersion or look weird, quite the opposite, they genuinely look fantastic. I am convinced that if you were to show those images to someone who has never looked at AI generated Anime pictures before, they would be none the wiser and I assume all those are hand-drawn by a skilled artist. There are very few artists that are really capable of providing a better quality than that, the likes of Teku maybe.

I already mentioned the plot, the decent (by which I mean slow and authentic) pace of the story and the authentic and likeable characters. They are not caricatures of run-of-the-mill porn-logic protagonists like in the majority of games featured on here.
I personally prefer a confident and dominant MC, it's just something I identify with more and which makes it easier for me to immerse myself into the story. In this game, the MC is quite insecure, shy and rather passive. However, he is not a stright-up wimp, he has facets to his personality, he is possessive and not oblivious of his flaws and is genuinely not just a dumb idiot. Likewise, his girlfriend is not just a dull nymphomaniac that is looking for a way to cheat on him, they in fact have a loving and complex relationship that is portrayed in a believable and, dare I say, wholesome manner. The transition towards NTS content is slow and careful, yet not glacial, it introduces the ideas and plants them in both their minds simultaneously, allowing them to process them openly and on their own terms. Things get more and more heated with every encounter, despite some other commentator claiming otherwise, there are some spontaneous and rather unforeseen events happening as well. Also, the teasing by the GF is some of the best you will see in such a game, it is really masterfully crafted.
There is currently also two other characters, the male "third wheel" who looks like the typical, as one reviewer called him, "big dick chad gym bro who is destined to fuck the GF", but who is actually written like a decent friend who acts natural and authentic, not feeling like a shoe-horned attempt to use him as the object of lust for the GF (even though I guess he technically is, but duh - still doesn't really make it less authentic). The childhood friend is a catalyst of some sort, raising the open-mindedness within the friends group and poking the stick into the firepit (?), trying to stir up the dynamics between them and make everyone realize their true desires.
All in all, it is a nice cast that compliment each other and that have a nice and believable dynamic. No "There are 17 LIs that you can choose from and form a harem with" bullshit (no offense if you are into it) but just a bunch of friends trying out new shit and seeing where it leads them.
Again, this might not be your thing, and that is fine, I saw that people say games like BaDIK have a shit story and unrealistic characters, so opinions may vary (and be shit), but I genuinely feel like there has been some thought behind the characters and how they interact with each other and that is something not every dev is capable of creating.

So unless you are someone who is really just looking for a quick 5 minute wank or you cannot stand NTR/NTS content and jump off your seat in anger the moment you see someone other than the MC just glance at any of the females in a porn game, you really need to try this - now!
As of version 0.4.0 it has already a lot of content, I see the dev is touching up some of the CG still and adding animations (which look good, despite what some here said, bouncy tits are a heavenly sight) and is in general passionate about this project. I usually wait for games to be completed, or at least for significant upgrades, but in this case I feel tempted to follow the process more closely and check out new versions regularly. It just really left an impression on me.

The NTR/NTS genre already has a lot of mindless games that are essentially power fantasies that read like they are written by horny teenagers, being sexually educated by hardcore porn, with one-dimensional characters, using the same Koikatsu models like 60% of games on here, but still get hyped and praised to Heaven (looking at you, The King of Summer - no offense to the dev who is doing a great job and updates regularly).
I just implore you to give this a try and help it receive its deserved praise and attention.

PS for the dev: The only suggestion I might have for the dev is to consider the idea of implementing a mobile phone or similar function, given that the MC already texts regularly, I imagine it could be a cool way to implement those conversations more naturally into the game, also having those conversations/photos available to re-visit. I know that much less talented and ambitious devs were able to code something like that, so hopefully it wouldn't be too much of a bother. But I do believe that it would improve the experience for the future too, assuming there will be many interactions between the MC and GF when they are not physically in the same room. Plus a nice way to implement basic game functions, save/load, gallery, etc. [insert Marge Simpson "I just think they're neat" here]

Good story, I love slow progress.
I love how the GF is slowly opening up and changing, how the BF is encouraging her and enjoying it. Ari is great, how she pushes it all tactfully and carefully, because she knows that BF is enjoying it (and so is she).
Ignore the haters and continue what you started as you planned. I wish you a strong will and success in the continuation of the story.

I love this game so far. Not a lot of true netorase games out there so far and the dev has said its going to stay that way. I love the visuals and its a slow burn which I know you either love or hate but I personally love it. Dev also communicates a lot and you can tell they have a lot of passion for this project. I'm excited to see it continue.

shallow dialogues without any depth, some sentences of dialogue that don't make sense or don't have a specific subject and don't lead anywhere.

- For me there are two types of ntr protagonists. which the game makes fools of the player
- and the ntr of which the protagonist is always in control with the player, so that the LIs is always keeping an eye on the mc noticing his reaction, and any sign that he is getting upset with the ntr, she runs back to him and constantly values him above other npc saying she loves him and everything

unfortunately this game is the first type, an idiotic mc for ntr, of which he is left behind by his own choice and does not last 20 seconds in sex with his girlfriend, of which she herself comments that this leaves her frustrated.

a lot of delay in a single beach event that could have been something simpler, since the reason for the beach scene is just to show how much LIS likes to show off in public, and the mc likes that.
but the dialogue in these beach scenes seems like half the game is just that, they keep repeating this subject of her liking to show off for a LONG time, even though it could have progressed to other themes in the story
Even when they return home from the beach, they continue saying this even when they are going to sleep, and it is exactly the same sentences without anything new being added.

the image of LIS whispering in the MC's ear is constantly repeated, the same image is often repeated several times, for any type of situation, not even to change the expression.

There are no animations, practically everything is static, if you call a 2 second animation loop.
The art is good but sometimes the face looks weird like the image when they are kissing which is just a close up of their face, I wouldn't call that image a kiss.

It might be a good game to pass the time, but it's not something that captivated me.
