What makes something hot? That's totally subjective. But it has to be hot for someone is what I mean. Some games try really hard to be very neat and polished and have amazing mechanics but that doesn't really matter too much for popularity if it isn't making people fap lol. At that point, the audience can just go on Steam and play a non-porn game. Nobody comes to find porn games because they want to sit at the cutting edge of video game innovation. It's just a nice bonus that can polish the experience.

But on what makes something hot, it's subjective but that's why you should make what you find hot. Make the type of game you think would make you really horny lol. Then even as it's subjective there will guaranteed be other people who feel the same way and like the same stuff
I forgot who that member is, but he said the moment he can jack off to his own creation he will stop continuing.
That is probably true. For a porn game anyway.
So that is what i am aiming for. Hot to me and maybe a side bonus, hot for others. In the end that is all it matters.

Writing is what makes games "hot". Not many games have good erotic writing. How many sex scenes are just a couple renders and random dialog? A lot of them. Erotica is one of the most popular genres in writing. Yet very few devs actually try to implement that into their games.

Look at the erotic writing in AWAM during certain scenes. Or for another example, look at Midlife Crisis. That game has bad/average renders and no animation. Yet has a good rating, a very active thread and a few hundred patrons. Why? Because it has good writing.

You can make good animations and good art, but that doesn't matter if the writing isn't interesting. There are plenty of good games on here that look nice, yet people don't play. Because nothing in the game "hooks" the player.

Me and AMAW have a distance love-hate relationship.

I think it's a great game but it didn't deliver where i needed it to be. If that makes sense.
Sex writing is probably an art like any other art and not everyone is good at it. Hell, i am not even sure if i am good at it.
But i think that is the fun. I learned so much trying out different things and see if they work on me.
It's a slow process but you got to take that time and see what effect it has on you.
The basic arousal level is probably already close to peak if the right kind of women appears on the screen, then drown in some suggestive hints and some grabbing that lead to some form of sex. Climax.
I think one of the first games i really liked was Dreams of Desire. Mom was hot, guy you never see, some naughty night action. Man, this was really great. Sad that it was a harem game which i didn't like. But it doesn't matter what i like. The game was by itself fantastic.
I believe there are many good examples that made each of us very horny. Otherwise we wouldn't play them. Though i am not sure if these devs had writers or were just naturally really good. Dunno.
