Ren'Py Animations stutter in newer Ren'Py games

Did Ren'Py have any updates recently that might cause this? In the newest versions of the Ren'Py games i play the animations lag/stutter/lose frames(don't know how to best describe it), while in the previous versions the animations run fine. At first i thought this was unique to a specific game, but then i update another game to the newest version and had the same problem.

I tried changing some Ren'Py settings(Shift + g), but they either had no effect or made things worse. If someone knows how to fix this please tell me, if not i'd be happy to just know what is causing it.

Processor: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 460 ASUS DUAL OC 2GB
RAM: 8GB

when was the last time you have updated your OS or your video card?
what are the game that are causing the issue?
can you share your save file as well?
