There were a couple of similar threads but I couldn't troubleshoot, so I'm asking for help again.

Certain animations in certain games chug and lag but some don't. In forums there were several solutions ranging from soundcard to CPU etc.

Some say devs upgrading to Renpy 8 from Renpy 7 caused these issues stemming from incompability with older rigs. Some say it is caused by WEBM video file format etc.

I think I narrowed my problem down to my CPU.

I am playing Ripples right now (it occured previously on several games too) and some animations lag (certain positions in a scene) and some don't. When I bring up the task manager at rest while running Ripples on static render it sits at 10% CPU usage at fluctuating speed of 3-3.50 GHz (my CPU is AMD FX 6300). Also it takes up 4.5/7.9 GB RAM usable (3.1 GB reserved). My Geforce 960 GTX running at 20-30% easily. When a simple kissing animation fires up CPU runs at 65-70% with a decreased speed of 2.5-2.6 GHz, RAM and GPU are nearly unaffected.

So is there any action at player's end to abate this situation? May be someone can walk me through to convert WEBM to another format? I am a bit of a noob can't locate animation files.

Note: I have tried shift+G and tweaking settings approach doesn't work.
