You might try to find a writer to work with or at least someone to review the writing.

Try a space opera or Ancient Rome themed game. It seems that most devs go for a modern or medieval fantasy setting while these two niches are a bit underserved.

I also forgot to add this.

The Dev of one of my favorite games, put together a 10 content mantras for the Wife Trainer Universe, and I think it really applies to adult game sin general.

That's exactly what type of game I'm working on ;)
You're talking about Revolt? I've been meaning to try it out, but wanted to wait for more content before doing so.I guess I'll wait for you guys to release the reboot, then give it a try. The renders looks absolutely beautiful though. Hope the story will live up to the gorgeous renders :)

Yeah, I’d suggest you do that. And if you think the game looks good now, you’ll really like them after seeing how they look re-rendered. In the next couple of days we’ll make a post showing a comparison of the old renders vs the new. And if everything goes smoothly, hopefully we can release it in the next two weeks. It may not have incest which is the in thing right now, but we hope people will appreciate the unique world we’re building.

Sounds great. I honestly don't care if it has incest or not. Well written characters are more important to me. I like to immerse myself in the stories. If a story can make me care about a character, it is so much more of a turn-on when the sexy bits are happening, compared to a less than average typical incest story. Most of those stories are pretty much the same. A good story also trumps good renders. I prefer good visuals AND story together though (who doesn't? ^^)

I'm looking forward to trying out it out :)

I don't think I've seen a game where the female protagonist has to get fucked by a series of sex machine 'traps' to get out of the sex dungeon. And maybe monsters too, although there are a few monster fucking games already. In this idea, she has to bring satisfaction to each trap/monster, and she becomes more sexually proficient after 'overcumming' each obstacle.

It's a silly idea, but the title of this thread seemed to imply someone looking for new ideas, and the idea just popped into my head.

I voted for bronze age (thinking Hercules/Xena here), but a 'Flintstones' themed stone age game could be fun too. stone age, maybe or maybe not...

It's a good idea for a laberynth game mechanic, and I'm procifient in procedural dungeons. I've seen lots of comics featuring females in dungeons getting his brains fuck out and didn't find it very interesting, but never thought to aproximate with game mechanics and fills my love for dungeon crawlers.

Stone Age game/Barbarian Age is something I'm gonna do in the future for sure. I share you this old sketch render with two of my favorite custom chars. (I was quite tinkering what to make about as you can see a pistol and barbed wire... Just testing, was more like an apocaliptic regression thing).
FantasyApocRando.png

Also a recent render with quality, trying to get in the hard space between realistic and sexy.

PS: For the Revolt developer, those graphics looks gorgeus!

Yep, I've only seen a pair of space opera out there... or maybe one and the rest was comics. Space Opera and hardscifi are my favorite genres for creativity, so I reserve that for a long game, if I can do that in the future

Well, if you can somehow pull off a Frazetta look to your Barbarian Age project, that'd be cool!

Not necessarily the 'painted' style (that's cool, but replicating it in Daz, etc. might be a challenge), but the poses, bodacious babes, creatures, etc. that he seems to like to use in his art, which gives it a bit of an 'epic' feel.

Every time I try to do a modern setting game-story I see myself strolling to incest,
While I'd really like to make historic/fantasy historic/sci-fi thematic game, but as a creator I have so many ideas that I don't know where to start, so that's why the poll, and expecting some feedback about what's more interesting, a little discussion about what have more possibilities to it.
I voted for both... there's plenty of good modern days games (where the heart is, retrieving the past, acting lessons, depraved awakening, become a rockstar) that don't have incest in them. and there's plenty of medieval fantasy games that have interesting characters and worldbuilding potential.
Have you ever considered a modern-days fantasy setting. like our current entury but fantasy races. Immagine this, you play as a human that works in a game making company, your roommate is an elven mage that works in the police and your best friend is a dward that runs aa meetings. you could insert evil cults trying to avaken a destroyed, dragons protesting about the negative pr they get in the news.and immagine a driad pegeant contest.

I'm saving the artist for reference, but it's tottally an art, making the bodalicious bodies that can more easily achieved by hand drawing that in "generic" models. Daz models have the benefit that you don't have to draw them every time, but are quite difficult to get good renders without extensive displacement/normal/bump map modification if you want to get a truly different more western comic style. And, even if you can make it look right in one pose, it can look a mess in another. It can be done, but how much work it is. Part of the thing of extremly curvy/muscular in art comic is that they don't need to adjust to realistic muscles.

I have to play a lot of games I've seen in this page that didn't see before.

Anyway is a personal thing that modern stroll me to incest, even if the story is another, is just so fucking fun to put it on the mix (specially with some of my custom made teen models that i'm fond of, fast example:)

Anyway, Modern day with elves type of scenario for NSFW is far on my list, Among the dozen ideas needing to realize on my head, Space Opera ticks the need for strange species interaction for me.

It's worh noting that it's not down the line make a game where incest is the story. Several hundreds renders I have in some folders are about 1) Politics and 2)Mistery, but there's incest cause I find it a good side story. But Finally I always drop those projects because Incest is baaaad and not for making money on the internet... xD I know there is a lot of creators doing it, but the harass of making alternatives stories and patching it... Is not inspiring to me, at all.

I'll better take advantage of this already open thread. I was wondering these days about update procedures, because a complete game, Is better if somewhere in the process is open for testing along the way to completion.

(I've reading some patreon/etc posts in the forum. They are quite time consuming to find, so I only achieved to find three relevant sources in the forums. But they don't answer my cavilation).

The idea of this Medieval project (i'm 50 animated renders on the way and gonna put it togheter in the game engine in a pair of days to start getting the feeling of what i'm doing), is that the player has to "complete" a number of territories in order to reach the end goal (as a simplificated way to put it)

I, that don't like nothing about too constant updating with little content and breaking save files again and again, or changes in the story that gate content that before was open and you don't know if your in front a bug o not (you will now some games that make several drastic changes... or bugs that don't let you play content that was able to play before), making people replay and replay and pray that you don't put a lot of secret content that they can miss completly because they are trying to rush to the end of the previous gameplay, I was wondering a lot about the update model.

What a ramble. well, I thought about two scenarios:

1) Independent chapters (in the "same" development build or not, depends of file size and duration of every chapter in comparision with the others. Every chapter has independent progress and overall, the progress can be seen by the Gallery Unlocks for every chapter.

2) The updates makes a completely finisheable in that update new zone avaible, that is not gonna change in the future (except bug fixes) and you don't need to complete the others zone to get there (because you can do them in any order). Well, to get to the end zone you'll have to do all zones, but will be a kind of end replay. It's kinda similar to being independent chapters completely, but in the same "game" you could revisit zones to repeat some lewds actions, instead of going to the main menu to see the gallery (and the gallery don't have dialogs) This aspect allow continuity, possibility of special actions between zones (secret or end game oriented), and the sensation of a bigger game instead of chapters. Also, I don't see that the player has to be binded in a territority until finish, but can go from one to another if gets stuck in a zone. (you can look at the zones as some sort of independent old classics meet'n'fuck games where you go from place to place solving stuff), so this method will be seen as less linear. But has more programming requirements, because in a chapter as a closed space you can make less mistakes making the game (cause is not as simple as a meet'n'fuck game... XD

And this options, or my questions per se, are very relevant with a question that maybe some can helpme because I didn't find info about: What is the "pay per upgrade thing on patreon"? never saw it any patreon page. I guess that is a pay per upgrade a major build, any build, what happens if you are working with various games? Doubts.. Doubts...

Thanks for the opinions, and if anyone can resolve that doubt ;)

While I play in any setting, as long as game contains the fetishes I like, I have some clear preferences. I like cyberpunk and to some extent post-apocalyptic games best. Fantasy and generic sci-fi are also fine. Stone age is not my cup of tea though, a porn game without hot lingerie is just not the same. I'm not the biggest fan of present day settings either, though there are differences within the modern world. A school setting is one that will most likely keep me away from a game, while I can enjoy a good crime story on the other hand.

Some thoughts on the incest theme: Do developers sometimes think of making family relations a topic of game without making that game an incest game? E.g. the protagonist getting revenge on an enemy by seducing his mother and slowly turning her into his or her sex slave? A sexy MILF having a lesbian affair and her husband, son and brother are not happy about it and become the antagonists?

Ahhh, princesses in the Barbarian Age...

So young and tight... even if we don't get to see her get banged in this movie!

I forgot how tall Wilt Chamberlain is though. Olivia looks absolutely tiny next to him...

Something related to Greek Mythology would be interesting. Something about all the creatures, gods, heroes, etc.
Of course the question would be, what story should the game have.

Would the main character be one of the heroes, a god or a totally nameless person? A man or a woman? Or could it tell a story in general with no main character at all?

Question: I'd like to show some progress of the project. I've seen Game section is for upload so it's not good place for a WIP. I've seen a dev diary here on General discussion but don't know how common is it.

As I am not gonna start a patreon or anything until I make 0.1 release, the best way to stay motivated is to get some feedback meanwhile and this forums seems like a nice place.

I'd like to show a video of the first scene to show technical/graphical features, and get a place to show art whenever I see fit, so, any forum veteran, and advice about the place to make the thread, tags needed maybe?

Thanks ^^

@SeventhVixen

I started a project thread in Programming and Development for my various projects close to two years ago, and I use that thread to post updates for my projects. Not all of those projects have come to fruition as of yet (my interests are a moving target), but I have received meaningful feedback in that thread.

While most people don't really care, some people do interact with me via that thread if they see something they like. Since the forum section is for Development as well as Programming, etc., that'd be my suggestion for where you could start that thread.

Just don't over-promise anything. It's best to give overly conservative estimates then overshoot those than to constantly promise and then under-deliver. I've run afoul to the over-promising things once or twice, although the latest issue was hardware related (bricked system - needed to build a replacement within my budget), so I don't feel as bad about that one.

A few other people regularly ask for input on character designs, etc. in that forum section, so you should be right at home.

Once you have an actual release ready to go, then you can start a thread for it (in General or wherever) and ask a moderator to move it to the games section, once you have an actual game to download.

This is precisely what I did for my Enthralled comic. I shared teasers, etc. in my Projects thread, and after I eventually had what I felt was enough for a full Part 1, I started a new thread and asked Muttdoggy to move the newly created thread to the comics section. I still use the projects thread for my other art projects and status reports on my hardware issues, but am now sharing the new updates for Enthralled in the dedicated thread, sharing new panels for Part 2 as I complete them.

Hope this helps!
;)

The pay per update is set by the creator so they can control when the payment is processed instead of every 1st of the month, this is better for when you have an irregular schedule and can do without the regular payments.
