Hentai games and visual novels has no voice.

Hey guys, so i have an issue with some of my games in that while I do have background music playing and sound effects, it seems voice files won't play for me. I tried looking up any fixes for the problem however none of it seem to apply to my situation. Does anyone know a reason as to why this is the case?

This is currently the case with visual novels that i install and very recently with Sexy Girls Hunt.

Tough one to diagnose
1st check the obvious go in to settings and check voice is activated in the game and check volume setting
2nd could the voice files be corrupted
3rd have you got the correct codex to run the voice sounds /or is codex corrupted in some way
4th do you have any software running in background that may interfere /close down any non essential background programs especially if they are linked to audio or video functions
as above tough to diagnose with out machine in front of you but a few things to look at

Fair point, thank you for replying.

1. Voice and volume settings are set.

2. The voice files seem to be okay.

3. I'm not sure how to check this, would you give me an idea on how to?

4. I tried turning off any outside audio programs but it seems to still be the case. I'm hoping it does not have anything to do with my Logitech headset software as I currently cannot set it to stereo for some reason

For 3, Do you have access to the audio files in the game? When you click on those, do they play?
If they play, you have the codec. If they don't play, then you don't have the codec and need to add a codec pack.

Ahh, i see. In that case, then yes I do have the right codecs as well.

if it helps, i find that some games allow voice audio while some don't at all.

I take it back, from the looks of it it's every Visual Novel i have so far that doesn't seem to have any voice playing. Music, sound effects, even some H-sounds play, however when it comes to playing the actual voice there is no sound whatsoever. I've tried reinstalling them but still no luck.

This is an older post, but i just wanted to share that i finally fixed my problem. It was an issue with my headset and the surround sound functionality. Essentially, surround sound practically disables the "center" speakers, which unfortunately is where voice audio gets played. I had the logitech g430 and even turning off the surround sound capability it wouldn't work for me. Turns out using the USB plug in for the headset defaults it to surround sound and by taking that out i was able to switch it to stereo. Thank you to everyone that tried to help. I just wanted to revisit this just in case anyone has similar issues.
