Nah, they just weren't able to finish both paths for last month's release date, so instead of delaying the release, they released the path that was done and promised the other path for this month.

MC mopes around a bit, he and Andrew have a talk, decide it might be worth seeking out vampire hunters to take on cave girl. MC asks Carmen if she has any contacts, she says no. MC and Sharon decide to go into the city to talk to fabian, calisto, and the princeps. That part plays out pretty much the same as the previous update with a little extra commentary from Sharon. And Fabian alluded to Virgil being more than he seems (I can't remember if that happens in the other version of this). They find Olivia in their apartment still, she says something about a "big man" and that's the end of the update. Presumably talk with the princeps is the next update.

There is no "correct", these are two routes in the game according your former choices if Laurie was saved or not in EP4 Update 2.

I always, always have to revert back to normal fonts, by pressing A in-game then choosing a basic font. I'm not a fan of all these fancy almost unreadable fonts people have made in the past. It would be super nice if you could make it so we have a choice of which fonts we want to use, along with making sure there is the usual basic font. I have used a script in the past, which forces any fonts that is the same font as the listed one in the script to revert to it. I can also easily remove the dialog box, not a fan of dialog boxes. However these don't always work on some games, they just cause them to crash which is just a nuisance. I have made a few changes in the *cough* code in episode 1 to force it to use a specific font, because sometimes my scripts dont work and pressing a can and using a basic font can mess the game up, especially with transitions.
That's why I want to ask you mr developer, can you please, please provide us a basic font in the settings? I know your going for a specific look, but I really need the basic font to be able to read the text. I love your game, and I look forward to so much more of this story! One of the few that I really am enjoying at the moment..save the font issue which is my problem not yours.

Are they actually planning a major route split here? I thought it would have been much more likely that they would just relegate Laurie to non-essential character. She pretty much was already doing nothing in the plot.
Looking at the code, there is no flag set for Laurie dying. The game is just using 2 separate script files. It's using labels to point towards 2 separate story paths. MC is going to the same locations so far but with different accompanying characters. Sharon's character development is quite different in the 2 routes. This leads me to believe we have a major route split. If it was something minor, if-else coding with some flag would have sufficed (like Carmen and Astrid).
Granted, they can create a flag later and then merge the 2 routes, but we will have to see. I wonder if they will keep doing alternating updates from here on... Not sure how I feel about that.
I just wonder why Laurie had to become a childe of Sharon...? It's so weird. It makes Sharon into some kinda mommy whose attention is entirely on Laurie. Laurie's allegience will go to Sharon. So what was the whole fucking point of trying to thrall her with MC's blood and the Slave vs Lover variable for Laurie? It's almost like MC lost influence with 2 characters lol. And if she dies, there was literally no pay off for any of Laurie's plot. We didn't even bang her lol. That said, I like how the story is playing out after she dies much more than the other route.
On another note, why can't we just thrall Carmen or something? Makes no sense. I didn't do the romance with her because it seemed stupid. We are constantly worrying whether Carmen would betray us and have to resort to blackmail to keep her in line. Just thrall her already jeez...

I understand you're here to imagine you're a vampire with more success with women, but I'm just here for porn. Don't care if I'm playing as a damn hobo with a 2 incher as long as the sex scenes are hot.
Then why you are here? This game is almost 3 years in developement and has already chapter 4. Even you must have now realised that this one isn't the game you are searching for. But you are still coming into the thread and wondering why it's no fap game? And then posting such irrelevant comments? It really would be better to search somewhere else, this one is not to your liking.

I also hate dialogue boxes and always substitute my own transparent textbox that I create in Paint for the one that devs use in game (unless they provide the option to slide the opacity or they otherwise lock down their gui files). If I'm able to access the gui file, I might also add a black border to the text to make up for the loss of the textbox shading. I agree about the fonts. I much prefer an easy to read font, or at least the the ability to change it if they decide to go with some kind of fancy calligraphy as default.
really like seeing some secret whispers in action, I think is absolutelly evil, but I like having the options to use vampiric powers in this kind of routes. The game looks great, and the story is entertaining. But I wish having laurie wouldn't lock you out of secret whispers content.

like... it would randomly say it's the end of the update, even if I start from the beginning of ep4?

edit : nevermind that. I solved my issue by deleting the persistent files and starting a fresh ep4 playthrough... *sigh*
edit2 : noooooo it did it again ! I don't know what to do. the game just throws me out ! I can't progress at all...

this update is bugged nonetheless. I started a fresh ep 4 playthrough and the game just throws me out BEFORE the raid :
Carmen : "Understood"
"You gather the rest and start heading towards the cave"
aaaaaand... out to the main menu screen.
