With Nuka World coming out on the 30th I've been spending the last few days trying to finish as many of my planned settlements as possible before I uninstall all mods due to some of them being outdated or imcompatible. Anyone else doing any interesting or have found any good mods?

I wish I could get Fallout 4 lol. I own every game from the canonical series except 4. I have beaten Fallout 1 and 3 with DLC and New Vegas without DLC. 2's story starts off kinda weird cause you start as a tribal character that is the descendant of the first games hero (grandchild to great grandchild) and like in 3, the original games hero was cast out of his vault for being different after their travels through the wasteland and you do join the Brotherhood of Steel but apparently you don't maintain that life style (its optional but canon as well, it's also a bitch to do but the games main story revolves around doing it anyways so it gives you additional stuff to do and better gear) so your family grows up in what was once LA and is a tribal people with access to a vault that they consider holy ground. Every adult in the tribe has to go into the vault for a rite of passage and your character being decended from the vault dweller of 1 receives their pip-boy as you are next in line to become the tribe leader for completing the rite of passage. It's the tribal mentality that throws me off as they act like technology is weird despite having a mechanic in the village lol. Then there is Fallout Tactics which is a turn based rpg similar to the Fire Emblem games and Final Fantasy Tactics about the Brotherhood of Steel sending out what will eventually become the BoS from 3 and the Outcasts as well as the origins for the guy who runs the Pitts from 3. You don't create characters this time around and are instead given a group of characters that are new recruits due too the loss of both communication and resources from the main BoS group in California. IDK what the main villain of the game is but 2's is the Enclave and them using Vaults as test subjects (vaults that get destroyed from within are caused by the Enclave) and their Vault 0 super computer.

The only thing I loved about Fallout 4 is that settlement part(modded ofc, because vanilla sucks balls), which basically gives you sort of a fps Sims and the arrival of the BoS(literally had a ten minute goosebump attack). That's basically it.
I could whine all day about how bad the game is, but I'd rather point to the Nexus with a shitload of mods, which are able to turn a ugly piece of scrap metal into a beautiful jewelry.
A bit patience and time on Nexus gives you decent game, just make sure to read carefully if any mods cause problems when work together with other ones.
I've managed to get myself a pretty stable build with good a lively world, lots of random events, fortified settlements with actual protection, not some guy named Bob, who has old rusty shotgun, that shoots salt at the horde of ghouls.

Just wait until Loverslab really gets going with FO4. Once the tools are developed we are going to get some really good sex mods :D

Neither Nexus nor Loverslab will be able to really get active until the game gets its final official patch. After that... well open the floodgates. Personally i an looking for something like Project Nevada and EVE.

LL mods are great but i prefer a storyline. Random animations get boring fast. Dark Investigations was great, but Athsai was never going to finish it.

As far as mods are concerned you can download texture packs, weapon and armor mods etc without breaking you game. Stuff like Spring cleaning and other overhaul mods are better used after the final official patch for the game comes out.

That really depends if you planning to buy it or get a pirated game.
You see, Fallout 3 and New Vegas(I only played those, well, I also played the first one, but that's not the point) are absolutely amazing on first playthrough, if you decide to play it again, you might get the idea to mod it a bit, spice things up, get some fresh wind, unless you didn't really cared to explore the world.
Fallout 4 was a complete disappointment for me, because it had no soul at all. If we take everything before Fallout 4 and Skyrim -- these are some real nice games, especially Morrowind, despite it's graphics being as terrible as dream of a guy who had too much skooma, compared to the newer ones ofc.
I haven't played Witcher 3, but it was enough to play first two to get the idea of what to expect from the next one.
And you probably should stop comparing W3 and Bethesda games, because these are different open worlds. Just saying it so you don't get disappointed too fast.
In short you totally should try it, but don't throw your money at it unless you get the taste.
My first experience with Dark Souls started with pirated version and shortly after I decided to buy the thing. Pity, that there is no Demon's Souls on PC.

Fallout 4 is by far the absolute BEST shooter experience since the series went fps/3rd person.
Fallout 4 is pretty bad in regards to letting you chose affinity (evil, neutral, good).
Fallout 4 is pretty awesome if you like the settlement building stuff.
Fallout 4 is quite mediocre when it comes to having lots of rpg elements.
Fallout 4 is less about your story and more about how you get thru the game's story.
Fallout 4 is the best looking and most stable (personal experience) game of the series)

PC version is king : Looks better (if you dont have a potato machine ;) ), bigger and better mods (consoles do have a size limit).

Im fairly new to the series having only played Fallout 3 (plus all DLC, remember this is pre-steam so I had to suffer thru Games for Windows Live *ugh*) and while some of the rpg issues and story (I fucking wish somebody finally fixes The Brotherhood and lets me take over + save Dance) do annoy me a bit, the overall improvements and additions make it greatly enjoyable for me.

In regards to price/worth I really cannot comment since I got the Season Pass since day 1 which means mine was alot cheaper than it is now, which means I abso'fucking'lutly got my moneys worth. :)

I have never played anything more than the first minute of the first Witcher game but The Elder Scrolls (Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim) series is closer to the Witcher than Fallout. I didn't dislike the Witcher. I just had a corrupt install as I don't think Geralt was supposed to be waving his sword above his head while walking like he has a rash on his inner thighs (kinda like a crab walk).

Oh, don't forget about Witcher 3 DLCs. They don't feel like just some features added to bring more colors in the game, but rather like a full game both in terms of gameplay time and story.
I've watched through the whole Blood & Wine DLC and I can tell, that it's better than whole Skyrim with all additional stuff included.
Pity, that the game has very poor optimization, I would love to play Witcher 3...

To be fair to Fallout 4 and its DLC, its well worth the cost of the season pass if you got it while it was at 30$.

If you dont have the season pass (or Fallout 4) atm I'd say its up to your interests in the game whether you get the season pass or not. If you like the settlement build stuff it'll proberly be worth it, if you dont then I would just go for the single dlcs. Far Harbor and Nuka World for some good stories and areas, Automatron is a bit in the middle of being story dlc and settlement dlc but building robots is awesome after all :)

As for the Witcher, the game is more likely than not absolutely awesome. But if you're not into the fantasy setting (swordplay + magic) it'll never really catch your fancy, no matter the amount of gratuitous sex scenes featuring unicorns and whatnot.. :)

Some of the DLC for Fallout can feel like a whole new game while some just expand upon the original games story. 3 had Broken Steel and New Vegas had Lonesome Road which expanded the main games story while Honest Hearts expanded my favorite faction's story (Brotherhood of Steel). Then there was Old World Blues which was a standalone while the rest were the Pre-Order items packs and then there was the GunRunner's Aresenal pack which added new weapons, enhanced vanilla weapons and weapon mods.

Old world blues was the best expansion / dlc for Fallout new vegas imo.

@ --yup dlcs are awesome too.i haven't played blood and wine dlc yet.will play soon.as for optimization i played on pc didn't have any problems the only annoying thing was patches.there were too many patches and download size of those patches was too much.
Witcher 3 is the only rpg i have played more than 150 hrs...this game seriously has a lot of content..

@ --i had fallout 4 i played it,didn't like it.its just games from Bethesda feel empty, hollow.there is no closure and the settlement build system it gets boring real quick.i build like 2 settlements after that i was bored.its the only column on which the game is standing..i might be getting it wrong what did you mean by "gratuitous sex" cuz it doesn't make any sense to me...

my favorite dlc from fallout new vegas was where you meet the guy with bandages on his face...

Fallout 4 is a fucking disgrace to the series. Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas are some of the best games ever made. It makes me so sad to see my favorite series die like this, but I stopped being salty about it.
Fallout 1 and 2 are completely different games than 3, NV, and 4. There's no way to compare them as the pro and cons are so vast that cases can be made for either of them.

1 and 2 are only good if you like turnbased isometric combat. The RPG aspects are great but it doesn't age well in my opinion.

Fallout 3 has the more Skyrim with guns gameplay and it had a more simplified RPG presentation compared to 1 and 2.

Fallout New Vegas is a combination of Fallout 3 gamestyle with Fallout 1 and 2 RPG aspects. Lots of systems from skill checks to faction alignments. Great sotry further enhanced by the great DLC. The setting and graphics are really lacking and it still has the problems Fallout 3 had in terms of gameplay.

Fallout 4 in my opinion has more fun gameplay as it seems like they just ficed and updated the Fallout 3 gameplay taking out a lot of the problems. The graphics are great and the settlement building is very fun even if they seemed to have simply rushed it and not actually put much effort into it. However they removed about 99% of the RPG elements which removed a lot of the strategy and streamlined into what amounts to a shooter than an adventure RPG.

The problem seemed to be that the games went FO3->FONV->FO4 while Bethesda went FO3->FO4. If they had taken New Vegas as the base of that to make Fallout 4 into and just made everything prettier and updated the battle mechanics the game would have been much better. The problem is probably that they wanted a mainstream game with voice acting which made it impossible to have the diversity of 1/2/NV in interactions.

Fallout 1 & 2 have nothing to do with 3, NW and 4 other than sharing gameworld, they are isometric games while the newer ones are built around 3rd/1st person. And before anyone goes on a rose tinted masturbation run for 1 & 2's story, lets not forget that it had just as much bad shit (if not more) than the newer ones.

My judgement is a bit flawed since I didnt play NW and I never will, 4 is good enough to keep me satisfied and the massive graphics increase also doesnt make me wanna go back to fugly 3 or NW. The improvement to gunplay alone is another big plus for myself, since it was bad in 3 and near horrid in NW.

4's main story is flawed and more flawed than the one of 3 (which was horrid pre-Broken Steel), and NW seems to have the best stories alltho I dont care much for main stories who make you a part of a npc faction (albeit a massive part). I'll actually say that the main story is better out of the box than the story of 3 was, and Broken Steel fixed 3's story up to the level of 4s.

Keep in mind that 4 also introduced the settlements into the game series, and while it can be argued that it was poorly used (and still kinda forced upon you) it does work and can add greatly to the immersion.

Saying that 4 is a disgrace to the series is at best an ignorant comment (if your cock is so hard for the old games, how limp does it get when the trash that is Tactics and BoS is brought up?), it isnt perfect but it moves the series forward and tries new things which will be refined in later editions and thats a good thing.

As someone who hasnt played NW (granted Ive seen gameplay videos and discussion videos) I always thought the 2 main factions felt superficial, the NCR will win no matter what and the Legion will falter no matter what if you remove the intervention of the player.

NCR has production and a modern military and while a bit corrupt it wont fall if a leader is taken out, the Legion on the other hand might refer itself to Rome of old but pretty much only takes on the bad stuff of said old Rome. Once you take out the leader it will fall into disarray even harder than old Rome did. :)

Overall Im pretty sure the majority will agree that the stories of NW are better than 3 but lets be honest here, the main reason most never will say that 3 was good is due to it being the first game in the 3d world (just look at the cesspools of hate like No Mutants Allowed and such) and ppl cant stop stroking their cocks when they think of 1 and 2. :p

ps, in regards to 'braindead stuff'.... Lets not forget that the previous games features dumb stuff like having the option of the player becoming a pornstar, rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia are a dangerous thing :D
