Really? I find most games are backward compatible most of the time. Every once in a while they are not after, normally that is due to a majot. I guess I have been lucky.
Huh, mine seems to be completely stuck. No amount of clicking will get me past it.

I gave up on 0.4 when I got beat by Jessica(?) because I couldn't defend myself. I hate rigged crap.

Updated OP.
Gather at least 2 food and make sure you have more than half magic then save. Go home and hopefully get caught. Stun her and if that misses, immediately scroll back and use the meditate to rebuild magic. Try to stun again the next move and if you miss, meditate. Once she's stunned, then use the Dark Theft to take her clothes off. She will give up once you make her topless or expose her panties.

This one is a lot better then the previous iteration, I couldn't beat her at all in that one. This one, I make sure to get the dark theft spell immediately and can beat her most times. For some reason, the spell name got changed in this version to dark stealth.

The game has potential. My primary gripe, and it's a big gripe, is that I really can't stand when a game requires saving every 5 seconds in order to make it playable.
It's a grind-fest to be sure, but that I can deal with. For the most part it's just a slow climb to power and loot. All it takes though is a few sequential poor rolls by the random number generator and it's game over. The fights are enough in the player's favor that it isn't a constant deathfest at least. Still, if I'm going to hit gameover on a semi-regular basis in a game then I want the gameplay between start and death to be the reason I'm playing it. The fights mechanics aren't compelling enough to be the reason anyone is playing this game.
Make losing a fight downgrade the player's stats by a small amount. Show the player dead and gory, but then have his magic ancestor somehow return him to the living. Strip the player of his current loot, but let him limp home after playing possum. Anything but start this grind all over again. Grind-fests should not have gameovers scattered about that a player can only avoid by pure lucky chance.
(Yes, one can cheat... one can save scum... there are workarounds. Just because one can navigate around a problem doesn't mean that problem should be ignored.)

I get the feeling that LH might be using some sort of tool to generate the code and every time something update all the variable affected by the update changes, I mean it's not like Lab rat where new variable are added to the game.
