This game as a whole is 2.5-3.5 right now, but as a skeleton for something bigger is very promising with capabilities of becoming great game with great concept. I hope devs after finishing with skeleton, will add more content, more pics, more encounters etc. In terms of storytelling this game really need more pictures. You can fill a lot with imagination, but you need some pics as a solid background, this will help a lot. In hentai foundry author Onyxdime made a nice mix of storytelling and pictures as a solid backup to strengthen your imagination in his magical girl stories. I will post a link below as a proof. TL DR this game have a good potential for 5.0/5.0, but it needs more time and more content for it.

Sharing curses does not seem possible, get error message - also when forcing curses you get other errors (seems like if friendship values are too low it happens?)

Pregnancy mechanic doesn't seem to work, at least not if you're one impregnating companions. Also so far I've found one sexual encounter between party members place on layer 5, with every 7 day event, but nothing else.

Does anyone know of any others?

Before anything else, I'd like to say I really appreciate all the thoughtful feedback from the users here! It's really great to hear the opinions of people seeing the game fresh from a new perspective. The positive feedback is great for encouragement and the negative feedback is great for helping to identify and correct the flaws in the game.

So, to respond to some general feedback before specific users:

Regarding lack of sex scenes, I can definitely see why people see this as an issue. The game was originally adapted from an image-based CYOA, so there were just options with no scenes attached to them. I've tried to add a lot of new scenes, such as the threat encounters, the wonders, all of the companion conversations, and a significant number of the Curses, but there's a lot more to go. I'd like to fill out most of the existing options with scenes attached to them, such as almost all the passages for when you take a Curse. I'd also like to add more companion reactions to taking Curses.

Regarding the uselessness of Relics, I think that's also something that I'd like to address, though it can be somewhat difficult to think of the exact Relic uses that would affect gameplay. Some early Relics are basically made to just be fodder that you sell, but deeper Relics are meant to be more useful. If there's a Relic you'd like to use for something and it doesn't do it, please let me know and we're likely to implement it! This is something where ideas from players are greatly appreciated.

Also, the focus of the game is on the sense of exploration and adventure first and the NSFW aspects second. So while I will be trying to expand on the sexy stuff in the game already, plus add things like sex scenes with companions, I'm also trying to maintain a sort of adventurous atmosphere, like you're doing a risky expedition through the Abyss, but the Abyss also happens to be a pretty NSFW place, becoming more unreal and fantastical as you descend. I don't really want to make the NSFW aspects any more gratuitous than they are, but I agree that there are many places where it basically says "Then you imagine what happens!" and I'd like to improve that. If there's any specific scene that you found you were disappointed it, please let me know and I'll bump it up the priority order to revamp it and give it a more full, expanded version! Again, feedback is very useful here.

I really appreciate all the feedback from the users here, and I'll work to keep expanding the game to reach the expectations that some of the people here have.

Preliminary verdict: 3-4 out of 5. I am leaning to 4 because the story really is good and interesting. But the Html and missing content is definately a drawback.
Thanks for the encouragement! I think the lack of some scenes is a common piece of feedback and is something I'll work on improving. Are there any scenes in particular you wish were in the game, but you found were missing? I know there are a lot, but if you have any preferences, I'll try and get that done sooner.

It's only loosely based on the concept, rather than being specifically based on the story of the anime, but I do hope it won't disappoint you too badly.

Yeah lol, it's quite a direct reference. Though, it isn't directly based on any of the characters or Abyss layers from the show, but more on the general concept.

I understand where you're coming from. I still think a lot of the images fit quite well, but I definitely see your point about the images being stolen. This is pretty typical for image CYOAs, which is the origin of the game, and I also don't make any money off of it, but I still think this is a valid criticism. Though I will say the images were chosen with a lot of care and not just taken randomly from Google Images.

I do actually have some AI-made images for things like the traps on L5, some monstrosities on a lower level, and the images for a golem companion you can get, but that's definitely a minority of images. I may add more though as I continue to expand the game and add more content.

I know that won't quell your valid concerns, but I did want to explain the situation as much as I could at least.

Yet theres no options to have sex with your party? lots of pregnancy related curses even being able to have hybrid babies but nothing seems to actually be implemented.

most of the relics also dont do much if anything.

Hopefully this will keep getting worked on, great idea overall, just needs some fleshing out.

Also, pregnancy should be working fine, though there's only 1 birthing scene for now. Was pregnancy broken for you?

And sex scenes with the party are eventually planned, though probably requiring a decently high affection level. For now, the sex scenes you can get are with the Mayfly Swarm event, a few options with your Twin, and a variety of options if you take the Semen Demon Curse and have a high enough affection with your party members.

I've played a couple versions of this. It's something that might be a lot of fun one day, but for now it's essentially a skeleton. A lot of what's there is only half-implemented. The basic gameplay loop is looking for relics while managing your food, water, and corruption. Unfortunately there's not much to do with them once you have them - only a handful actually have an in-game use - and there's nothing to do in each area other than look for more of them.

Companions are all barebones, too. If this ever gets to the point where there's stuff to do and characters to meet and skeet in each area it'll be a triumph. The curses are all pretty interesting and could be a lot of fun to experiment with once it has proper adventures for them to complicate.

Layer 8 is the final layer in the game right now. Also, it is very inhospitable. But it was actually nerfed in the recent 0.9.6.2 update, so that should help a bit!

Seen this one before. It's basically 'use your imagination as to what happened', as there's no sex and the transformations have no game impact whatsoever. It can be kind of interesting to mess around with for a bit, but it's not really 'that' kind of adult game.
Well, depending on how long ago you tried it, a significant of new content may have been added. But I think this complaint is still valid as there is a lot of content that still needs to be added.

The first thing to address is that this game has nothing in the way of narrative. The game basically tells you to make up the story as you go along. The game gives you no reason to go into the depths other than to "find more relics".

The same could be said for the transformations as well. You're given a large list to choose from, but most of them have very little to no impact on anything at all in the game. Maybe you're giving a vague dialogue here or there that acknowledges a transformation. But nothing of interest. Once again, you're asked to make up all the scenarios and interesting things that happen to your character after the transformation.

But I feel like the worst thing is the gameplay loop. Which is a shame. Because this is where they started to show a lot of effort, it just got placed in all the wrong areas, in my opinion. They put a lot of effort into weight management, supplies, and all that other stuff, but all it really does is make playing the game annoying.

99% of this game was just asking you to fantasize and make up stuff for yourself, and if you're doing almost all of the work, why do you even need the game at that point?

But that was a long time ago. So my question is: has this game improved in any way, shape, or form? Or is it still just a list of transformations that you have to jump through a few annoying hoops to see?
Regarding story, the main idea here is to have an adventure. You can choose whether you want to push forward and explore deeper than anyone has before, or if you want to make some money, get a few Curses, and retire on the surface. There isn't likely to be any sort of specific story for people to follow, but the narrative is one you build through your own experiences and ambitions as you push deeper and deeper into the Abyss.

The gameplay thing is a very valid complaint. I'm actually considering simplifying the systems, but I don't want to rework everything from the ground up... So I'm not sure what the best way to do that would be, or if I even should. If you have any suggestions regarding system simplification, please let me know!

But if you played a long time ago, I would say the game has improved dramatically since the very early days of me working on it and there are a lot of new scenes that weren't there before. It might be worth giving it another go. Or you could also wait until even more content is added, if you'd prefer that of course.

This game would have a amusing gameplay loop if there was more interaction with the world, which is pretty barebones atm. I thought discovering more lore and reading about the different artifacts and corruptions was kind off rewarding after having to manage my resources (which is pretty easy if you have some saves to fall back on stack up some more if you fell short). Most of the text about the layers and artifacts is pretty well written imo. Though, this game would be much more interesting if you got feedback from other divers in the abyss or monsters about you different relics and transformations. This wouldn't have to be completely unique ones for each and every artifact/transformation, rather some generic scenarios for each layer which get some extra flavor for each change to your character would be already satisfying. Stuff like meeting some divers at the start and having a nice interaction only for having the recognize you later as some abomination while you crawl back out of the abyss and them being utterly repulsed would be fun. The art being plucked from the internet is kind of uncomfortable, maybe AI art would do the trick if you have no time to make any. Definitely not fap material either as it is now. Well this is just my opinion. This could become a pretty fun transformation game.
Thanks for the ideas! An interaction with some characters at the beginning and also later is a good idea. It actually gives me an idea for a character already in the game whose interactions can change whether you talk with him at the beginning of the game or once you've been sufficiently transformed. That could help give players a sense of the world reacting differently to them as they change.

noticed a bug with the twin curse not giving the twin the appropriate gender and the inventory keeps "eating" ammo(will buy 50 rounds and will be completely gone by the next in-game day). would like more explicate content, how do I increase affection for party members?
Can you provide more details on these bugs? And also provide save files? I haven't encountered them, but they seem quite annoying. If you post the bug descriptions and saves on the Discord we will also respond to them promptly.

Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I'll consider adding more pics to scenes, since most scenes are currently 1 pic each. I personally tend to be more of a text focused girl (at least for erotica), but I can tell that pictures are very important for many people. I'll think about what I can do with that.

One thing we're considering adding is using an AI model to live generate an image of your character based on the Curses and physical description of them using something like Stable Horde to make it for free. That's still a while off, since we don't have any budget to pay for a paid API, but I imagine something like that would be of interest to you if you want more images. :) It is a little different than images in scenes, which would be a separate thing I guess.

Unfortunately this game won't actually have the characters from the show. It's more like using the inspiration of the anime's setting for a new adventure rather than a direct translation of the anime into a NSFW game. Sorry if that disappoints you. :confused:

Well, the first idea to pop to mind is simple stuff like quests. Maybe someone up top wants a specific relic and hires you to find it for them or someone else is willing to trade a relic that can help you get past a difficult obstacle in one of the layers if you'll find them a particular relic. Someone in one of the layers is willing to give you some water or whatever if you can do a job for them that requires a relic. The scenario for getting to a useful relic requires you to use one of the earlier ones or else suffer an injury or something.

There's endless ways to work them in. It really ties back to the lack of adventures within the Abyss itself.

you know, you could always offer to help out if you think it's an 'unfinished mess'. it is unfinished, but in the description it literally says this is a conversion of a CYOA, and they aren't the easiest things in the world to convert to a game while also keeping the vibes of the CYOA intact.

so, uh, i'm sure they won't mind people jumping in to help them out.
