It is definitely a lighting thing. Models almost always look better in sunlight type lighting for one. A model under the same light can look both the left and the right depending on their position and distance to the light etc. Getting the best lightning would involve setting up the lighting for each scene individually which no one doing hundreds of renders has time for. Normally I'd say you guys should lighten up a little when it comes to criticizing renders because speed plays a factor in quality. Want the next update to have more pictures? Well a quality is going take a hit. That or the update will be farther away.
That said, this guy deserves the criticism because he is adding fewer pictures not more and is getting paid a shit ton to do it. Also at this point he should have the experience to be doing better when it comes to setting up a scene. NOOB TIP: Look at it from different angles! Or else you have flying pillows and such.

Speed in rendering (especially for Iray) can be easily overcome by acting professional. A license for Iray server is roughly 300 bucks and there are tons of server farms that actually offer ready to go rendering farms with the entire setup. So if one goes to patreon they should set a amount aside for just that and batch process instead of trying to render on the old flammable laptop.
You do not take into account one fact. I think the guy is moving in the direction of creating his company, and organizational issues take a lot of time.

The thing about the renders I dislike most, is the guy can't even position the boobs properly!..If they're laying down or in a position where the breasts should be moving. They still just look like plastic toy Barbie boobs...
Models still look meh. Skin tone is just bland, as if they've been coated with a tub of pink primer. And the poses are particularly unnatural. Kira will have backpain for weeks with that pose.
